The Chance You've Been Waiting For

Yesterday we posted about the end of the season for the JV Tennis team.  I got the details of two separate matches jumbled up and mixed together.  The game details and Deb Varland's pictures were from a match with Loveland and Sara Berhman's picture was from the final match with Elder.

Apparently this was the final straw.  It looks like the Boosters won't be renewing my contract after next year.  They say I've been riding too high on the glory and fame and power that comes with being the editor of the Round Up and it's time for someone else to drink of the fountain of adulation and praise from the Wyoming athletic community.

Interested in this pretty sweet gig?  I'm sure they'd have security escort me out early if you're ready now.  Need some time to prepare yourself for the bounty of blessings that comes as the  Round Up editor?  You've got a year to get ready.

Make your intentions known.  Email the Round Up at wyoroundup@gmail.com

CHL All Sports Trophy Correction

We recently posted about Wyoming's lead in the CHL All Sports Trophy (HERE).  Despite having a full 10 fingers to count with, I still made a mathilogical error and overlooked our 5th CHL winning team.  Thanks to an eagle-eyed reader for pointing out my oversight.

My apologies to the
CHL
CHAMPION
GIRLS
CROSS
COUNTRY
TEAM.
The Girls Cross Country Team took the title in a race that "featured 6 teams in the top 10 of the Cincinnati Enquirer DII/III Coaches Poll.  Our team combined for their strongest performance of the season, scoring 36 and easily outdistancing 2nd-place Madeira's 73.  Katie Spray finished second with a career-best time of 20:21, and Whitley Elsass and Terra Forsythe followed close behind in 3rd and 5th.  All 3 earned 1st-Team All-CHL honors.  Danielle McKee received 2nd-Team All-League for her 8th place performance.  Emily Wood (who set a new PR by over 100 seconds!), Lily Parker, and Isabella Renggli all finished in front of the 5th scorer of every other team.  4 Wyoming girls ran under 21 minutes at the CHL Championship for the first time since the league meet moved to Sharon Woods.  Also, Katie and Whitley again moved up the individual all-time WHS Top 20 list." Text from the Run Wyoming Blog by Coach Glendenning.

Addition and Correction - No It's Not Math Homework

Local James Brown emulator (as in one of the hardest working men in local sports photography), Rod Apfelbeck, just submitted another set of great shots from the Boys Soccer District win on Thursday, October 23rd (previously posted HERE).

Next game Wednesday, 10/29 (7:00pm) against Bellbrook at Monroe High School, located at 220 Yankee Road Monroe, OH 45050
As a correction to our previous post, our apologies to Nicholas Robles, who reportedly deserves the credit for the assist to Christopher Rutter's game winning goal.
Thanks to Rod Apfelbeck for the pictures,

A Redress

We posted previously about the Boys Soccer team's Senior Night.  An eagle-eyed reader noticed that one super senior wasn't named with the others. Along with  Sam Renggli, Ryan Knapp, Toby Varland, Tim Fitch, and Sam Izenson is Wyoming's own Will Carter.
Our apologies to Will, and our undying gratitude to our detail-oriented subscriber.
Thanks to Rod Apfelbeck for the help and the photos.

REVISED - Edgewood Baseball Game Location

There is a JV Boys Baseball game scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, April 17th at 5PM against Edgewood.  For all of you planning to go and cheer your hearts out for our Cowboys, the Edgewood referred to is in Ohio - NOT Edgewood, Kentucky.

Our original post yesterday had the address for the new high school but the game is at the old high school.  Here is the correct address:  5005 St. Rt. 73

Late-Breaking All-Stars

Due to an oversight by the Enquirer sports reporting staff, 3 Wyoming athletes for boys golf were left off the list of Enquirer All Stars.  A correction has been published in today’s paper (Tuesday, January 28th). Here’s the rundown:

Senior Henry Moore was named 1st Team All-City
Senior Christopher Betagole was named Honorable Mention All-City
Sophomore Sam Marty was named Honorable Mention All-City

See More Pictures Here, For Real This Time

I didn't catch that I used an incorrect link to additional pictures from the Boys' Varsity Soccer win over Madeira on August 27th.
So to make right all wrongs, HERE is the link to the additional Deb Varland pictures.

Shake it off...

It's a good thing it's still the Pre-Season.  I'm trying to work out the kinks, too.  In my earlier post about the Boys' Soccer Scrimmage on August 8th, I labeled the opponent as Kings.  Of course, those in the know know that the Boys' scrimmaged McNick on August 8th.  They faced Kings (DI) on August 10th where they won 1-0.
Thanks to Deb Varland for the great pictures.

CORRECTION - Revised Basketball Camp Dates

I made a mistake when I posted the REVISED Basketball Camp dates.  I must have been looking at my Mayan Calender which showed Monday as being the 16th.  I don't know why I am still using that calender anyway.  It seems like their quality control really fell off after 2012.

The correct revised schedules for the Basketball Camps are as follows.

Camp Dates are
Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.
Grades 2-5 3pm to 5:45pm
Grades 6-9 6pm to 9pm
