March at the Majors

As a team participating in the 2016 Skyline Chili Reds High School Showcase, the varsity Baseball team will be taking part in the March at the Majors pre-game parade on Sunday.  Come down to Great American Ball Park and cheer for a team in blue.

Opening Day

The new baseball field opened up on Wednesday, April 6th.  

Unfortunately, despite a valiant effort, the boys fell 3-4 to Indian Hill.  

The facility looks great, and everyone who played a part in making it a reality should be very proud.  However, the completion of the baseball field doesn't mean the Athletic Boosters work is done.

Facilities and equipment will perpetually need to be maintained, replaced, and upgraded to help our athletes to perform at their peak potential.  Something to keep in mind when the Super Saturday Athletic Booster membership drive knocks on your door next Fall.

The Grand Opening

The Cowboys host Indian Hill for the grand opening for the newly renovated Baseball field on Wednesday, April 6th at 4:00 pm.

The Grass is Always Greener

My Clark Kent type day job took me to Withrow High School the other day to locate a City of Cincinnati Benchmark.  While there I took a minute to marvel at their soon-to-be-new Baseball field. 

Just for reference, here is our own field

Now I'm not trying to advocate keeping up with the Jones's.  I just thought you'd appreciate looking at a beautiful green field (well, I guess our field is green too, maybe just a little too green).  So here it is again.

One Last Time

On Sunday, Parker Chalmers represented Wyoming in the East/West All Star game at Prasco Park.  Parker’s West all stars beat the East squad 5-4, scoring in the bottom of the 9th for the win.  Parker was 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored.

East or West - Parker is the Best

Parker Chalmers will be representing Wyoming in the East/West All Star game on Sunday May 31st at Prasco Park at 2 PM.  Prasco Park is a great place for a family to go watch a game.  Please consider going out and supporting Parker.

Cowboys to Meet the Rockets

Coach Fiehrer catches us up with the Baseball team

The baseball team finished their season on Friday May 8th with an extra inning win over Summit to finish the year at 13 and 12.  This was a great turn around after a 2 and 9 start to the season.

The Cowboys entered the tournament a 6 seed and traveled on Tuesday to play Bataiva, a 4 seed for a first round sectional matchup.

The Cowboys won 4-3 behind the arm of Joe "Romindogger" Rominger.  Joe allowed three runs over 7 innings and threw the ball very well.  He improved his record to 4-1 on the year.  Offensively Sam Izenson had two big RBI's early in the game.  Tim Rice knocked in the third run with a Sac Fly and Prajit Goli knocked a big run in the top of the 7th to extend the Cowboys lead to 4 to 2.  The game ended on a deep fly ball caught by Prajit Goli at the wall to finish the win off.

Thursday the Cowboys traveled to New Richmond to take on the 3rd seeded New Richmond Lions.  The Cowboys were lead by Andrew Marty on the mound who threw a complete game three hitter leading the Cowboys to a 3 to 2 victory and a chance to play in the Sectional Championships.  Parker Chalmers lead off the first with a walk.  Went to second on a wild pitch and then stole 3rd.  Sam Izenson knocked him in with a single to give the Cowboys a 1-0 lead.  In the second inning Prajit Goli lead off with a walk.  He was sacrificed to second by Tim Rice.  Prajit stole third and the scored on a Connor Eldredge single to extend the lead to 2 to 0.  Andrew Marty was helping out of a jam in the first inning after Tucker Marty made a great catch on a line drive and doubled off the runner at second base.  The Cowboys stranded runners in the 3rd and the 4th innings.  In the 4th New Richmond tied the game on a big 2 out bases loaded single.  In the 6th inning Prajit Goli lead off with a single.  Tim Rice sacrificed him over to second base.  Prajit took third on a wild pitch.  Connor Eldredge hit a sac fly to knock in Prajit to give the Cowboys a 3 to 2 lead.  In the bottom of the 7th Andrew Marty struck out the lead off hitter.  The second batter popped out to Parker Chalmers.  The third batter hit a deep ball into left center field that Prajit Goli ran down and caught right in front of the wall to end the game.

The Cowboys now advance to the Sectional Finals vs. Mcnick
(5:00 pm, Thursday, May 21 at Western Hills HS).

Baseball Seniors Stack Up Against Georgetown
