Middle School Football is about to kick off.  There was a great number of students who signed up which is an encouraging sign for the program.  Coach Kramerer is trying to make plans and needs those students to let him know if they still intend to be part of the team.

Undefeated

Kara Pendery and her crew reported for the Middle School Football team.

The Middle School Cowboys welcomed Indian Hill to Wyoming on 10/23/14.  With just over 2 minutes into the game, Pierson Rogers scored on a 5 yard run to put the Cowboys on the scoreboard.  Evan Prater caught a pass from Joey Edmonds for the PAT.  Less than 10 seconds later on the game clock, Moe Mitchell got a pick-six from 30 yards out.  Joey completed a pass to Pierson for the PAT and the Cowboys led 16-0.  The Cowboys defense came out on the field to make another brief appearance, stopping the Indian Hill offense.   When the Cowboy offense returned, Pierson ran 48 yards for Wyoming’s third touchdown.  Noah Fershtman came on to kick the extra point extending the Cowboy lead to 23-0 as time expired in the first quarter.

The second quarter began with the Wyoming defense once again stopping any hopes of a prolonged Indian Hill drive.  The Cowboy offense then mounted an impressive drive including a beautiful pass play from Joey to Moe, soon followed by an impressive run by Pierson, and capped off by a 14 yard keeper by Joey for a touchdown.  Joey then connected with Eli Cupp on a nice pass play for the PAT bringing the tally to 31-0.  For Indian Hill’s fourth offensive possession, the big blue Wyoming D pushed them back for negative yardage forcing a punt which Joey returned 30 yards to the Indian Hill 20 yard line.  The Cowboys scored on an 11 yard connection from Joey to Moe.  Indian Hill blocked Noah’s extra point attempt.  The half ended with the Cowboys up 37-0.

The second half started with a 65 yard scamper by Joey with Noah kicking the extra point (which probably would have been good from 40 yards out.)  The third quarter ended with the score 44-0 in favor of the Cowboys.

Indian Hill finally scored in the fourth quarter but failed to convert the PAT bringing the score to 44-6.  Wyoming’s offense got the ball back and Joey completed a 55 yard strike to Pierson for the final Cowboy touchdown.  Tyler McIlvain caught the pass from Joey for the PAT to bring the score to 52-6.  Indian Hill scored a final touchdown as the fourth quarter ended but failed on the PAT. Indian Hill had more cheerleaders than points!

Final score Wyoming 52, Indian Hill 12.

This win capped off an impressive undefeated season for the Cowboys.  Your Cowboys outscored their opponents 283 - 66 with a record of 7 - 0.  Of note, the Wyoming first team defense was not scored upon the entire season.

Warriors Whipped

On Thursday, 10/16, the middle school football team traveled to Mariemont.  I just want to let the team know how much I appreciate all the amazing tackles, catches and blocks that make taking photos so much fun!  I think we also saw some 'excessive blocking' by Pierson Rogers.....but we will get to that later.  (Note The Blind Side reference.... )  Due to missing press time....I am sticking to just the facts...as interpreted by my reporters.  :)

1st qtr:  Joey Edmonds #5  passed to Moe Mitchell #9 for a touchdown.  Wyoming 6 - Mariemont 0.  Pierson Rogers #22 ran for 39 yards for the TD and the PAT.  Wyoming 14 - Mariemont 0.  Our defense held the Warriors and kept them out of the end-zone.  Elijah McGee #30 had a beautiful 20 yard run.

2nd qtr:  Joey passed to Moe, again, for a 25 yard TD pass.  Pierson ran it in for the PAT.  Wyoming 22 - Mariemont 0.  Shep Marty #50, made a great tackle on a Warrior receiver forcing the ball out of his hands.  Conner Flood #1 assisted on the tackle.  Pierson took the ball 72 yards to another Wyoming touchdown.  Wyoming 28 - Mariemont 0.

Our defense held Mariemont even though the Warriors' drive was helped by 3 big Wyoming penalties.  This is where the 'excessive blocking' came in.  Pierson made a great block that flattened the little Warrior.  Even though a penalty was called, my photo does not support the call.... :)  The crowd went a bit restless for the remainder of the game, making sure to remind the officiating staff about proper blocking technique.  It was about this time that Moe made his amazing one handed catch for a TD!  The crowd went wild. :)  Eli Feazell #84 caught a pass from Joey for the PAT.  Wyoming 36 - Mariemont 0.

3rd qtr:  Mariemont scored on their 1st drive of the 2nd half.  Wyoming 36  -  Mariemont 8.  The next score was a one man show......Noah Fershtman #83 caught a 25 yard pass for the touchdown.  Noah then kicked the PAT.  If only he would have thrown the ball to himself!  Wyoming 43 - Mariemont 8.

4th qtr:  Sean Gildea #19 and Conner Flood #1 made a nice stop to prevent a Mariemont touchdown.  The Cowboy defense then held the Warriors' offense, turning the ball over on downs.

Final score:  Wyoming  43 - Mariemont 8

Bonus offensive highlight:  A beautiful ONE handed catch by Moe Mitchell in the end-zone for a touchdown

Defensive highlights:  Shep Marty's awesome tackle forcing a fumble which lead to Pierson's 72 yrd run for a touchdown

Cowboys Willy-Nilly Over Wildcats

The Kara Krew comes again with the goods for the Middle School Football team and their win over Deer Park on Tuesday, October 7th .

The Middle School football team had another great showing last week.  If you just want the highlights, skip to the end, otherwise, read on! Pierson Rogers #22 rushed for the first touchdown of the game.  Joey Edmonds #5 ran the ball into the end zone for the PAT.  Wyoming was up 8 – 0.  The stingy Cowboy defense then proceeded to allow the Wildcats offense only a brief appearance on the field.  Before I could clean off my lens, Pierson ran a punt return for another touchdown.  Joey threw a short pass to Evan Prater #10 for the extra point.  Wyoming 16 – Deer Park 0.  During the 2nd quarter, the Cowboy Defense stiffened and held Deer Park when they drove inside the Cowboy 10 yard line.  When the Cowboy offense took over, Joey Edmonds had a beautiful 80+ yard touchdown run.  Our extra point failed, but we went into the half leading 22 – 0!

The 3rd and 4th quarters proved to be equally exciting as our first two.  Moe Mitchell #9 had a 43 yard touchdown reception from a beautiful pass by Evan Prater.  Evan passed to Joey for the 2 point conversion.  Wyoming led Deer Park, 30 – 0.  Somehow, Deer Park managed to find the end zone with 2:14 left in the 3rd quarter but failed to get the PAT leaving the score 30 – 6.

On the ensuing drive, Wyoming was looking at 3rd and long, so Pierson Rogers thought it would be a good idea to run for a 59 yard run touchdown.  The Cowboys attempted the kick for the extra point, but it didn’t quite make it.  The score was 36 – 6.  Deer Park answered back with a 64 yard touchdown run, Wyoming 36 – Deer Park 12.

Late in the game, Evan Prater threw a 20 yard strike to Conner Flood #1.  Conner made a great catch and was stopped just short of the goal line.  On the following play, Elijah McGee #30 took the ball the rest of the way for another Cowboy touchdown.  Noah Fershtman #83 took another shot at the uprights and got the final point of the game.

A Close-ish One in Reading

Kara Pendery and her team keep the hits coming for the Middle School Football team.

The Wyoming Middle School football team continues to achieve great success on the field.  The boys traveled to Reading on 10/1 for their closest game this season.  However, you can’t really call it close when our Cowboy defense doesn't allow the opponent to score!  Reading has provided the best competition to our Cowboys so far this season.  The Cowboys went into half-time leading the Blue Devils 8 – 0.  Both teams had a couple turnovers – two Cowboy turnovers occurred deep in Blue Devil territory in the first half – preventing the score from being a bit more lopsided; but the Cowboys simply outplayed the Blue Devils and came away with a 14 – 0 victory.  Those numbers are comparatively low, considering we have outscored our opponents 110 to 0 at the half, this season.  Overall, these young athletes have outscored their opponents by 145 to 34 overall!!

We saw some great work on both sides of the ball and the usual suspects put points on the board.  This group continues to see great results, whether that comes from great blocking at the line, breaking tackles, precision passing, getting open to grab the pass, or key defensive plays….it all comes down to a great TEAM effort by the Cowboys.

Thursday, September 24th, the Middle School Football team tackled Taylor in a big way.

Cowboys Break the Mustangs

Kara Pendery reported for the Middle School Football team and the Thursday, September 18th game against Madeira.

It was another mauling in Madeira!  Wyoming football dominated Madeira both at the Middle School and High School levels this year.  Special thanks to Coach Kamerer for providing stats for the game.  We also have secret score assistants located throughout the stadium that have helped out, as well.  There has been so much scoring from the Cowboys....that it takes more than one person to keep track!  The Middle School Football team faced Madeira on Thursday 9/18 at home.

Floodgates Open in Finneytown

Rich Mitchell,  Gary Prater, and Chuck Rogers combined to report for coaches Dave Kramerer, Jerry Campbell, Matt Schnee and Nick Stofko's combined 7th/8th grade Football team and their huge win over Finneytown on Thursday, September 11th .

Joey Edmonds threw for 3 touchdowns and rushed for 2 touchdowns.

Pierson Rogers had 1 touchdown reception and 1 80-yard rushing touchdown.

Moe Mitchell had 2 touchdown receptions and 1 2-point conversion.

Evan Prater had 1 2-point conversion.  He also had an interception.

Wyoming led 32 - 0 at the half.

The offensive line was outstanding.  They protected their quarterback and opened up holes for the running game.  Joey Edmonds did a great job managing the offense and made some spectacular plays to Moe Mitchell and Evan Prater.  Pierson Rogers also had a great game offensively The defense was led by James Smith.  James had several sacks and pressured their QB all day long.  The line backing core also made some huge plays to help seal the win at 40 - 20.

The Cowboys' next game will be at home vs Madeira, Thursday 9/18!  Game time is 4:30PM at Wyoming High School.  Without a cheer squad to lead the cheers....we are asking you to come out and cheer on your Cowboys as they meet the Mustangs!
