Football Fridays

On Friday, August 21st there is a home football at 6:30pm vs. Anderson.  Please note that this is the OHSAA Jamboree scrimmage so Booster Passes cannot be accepted and adults are $5 and students are $3.

The team has been practicing.  Have you?  I didn't think so.  This will be the perfect low pressure environment to practice walking up and down the stairs and aisles of the Bob Lewis Stadium bleachers with arm loads of tasty concessions while you yell and cheer and break in your new spirit wear.  If we find we need to tweak our technique, we can polish up when the regular season opens up at North College Hill on Friday, August 28th, so we can be ready to really shine when for the home opener on September 4th as the team takes on Taft.
And remember that the Wyoming High School Athletic Boosters Association will be holding a WHS Spirit Kick-Off Event prior to that first home varsity football game on Friday, September 4th.  The event will take place beginning at 5pm, and will go up until the game's kick-off at 7pm.

The pre-game event will be held in the municipal lot off of Springfield Pike, near the tennis courts and right next to the football stadium.  Festivities will include a live band, a spirit wear table, an autograph session with some WHS varsity teams and athletes, and good food for purchase, with proceeds going to the Wyoming Athletic Boosters Association, who supports both middle and high school athletics. We encourage you to bring a salad or side-dish to supplement what will be offered for sale at the grill.  The event is open to all ages and the first 300 attendees will receive a free spirit towel to bring to the game!

Additionally, recognition and prizes will be given at halftime of game for the most spirited team at the kick-off event, judged by group attire and enthusiasm.  So, please mark your calendars and get your creative juices flowing as you round up your “spirit team” and we kick off the season on September 4th!

Please contact Blayne Smith (673-5393) or Graham Wadds (263-0269) with any questions.

And since you've been eating right and working out this Summer, you're going to need new spirit wear to really show off that new bronzed, buff physique.  Stop in the Spirit Stor at the T-Shirt Company to pick out your new spirit wear.

Skyline shoutout from Kathy Harper

A few weeks ago I talked with the Wyo Skyline [by the Rec Center] to set up a "Coney Challenge" pep rally event and get a discount on the coneys.

The Wyo Skyline was absolutely fabulous, so easy to work with and very helpful. They delivered the coneys and set everything up at the tables ... they even stayed around to watch the event. After the pep rally was over, I went to the Wyo Skyline to pay our bill only to be told that they were donating everything... about 100 coneys and even the gift cards that we gave out as prizes.

Can we get a shoutout for them?  This was such a nice thing to do.

K-Harp getting Rahmie with it

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel famously (infamously?) said, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste...[it] is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

That's also how Kathy Harper (AKA K-Harp) rolls.

She asked that we take this slow time for the blog to remind you about the flower pots, AGAIN:

Add a little school spirit to your home or office
with a
Wyoming Cowboys terracotta pot ...
they're not just for flowers ~ many uses - be creative!
The Wyoming Cowboys logo is etched into the pot
then it is painted in Cowboy blue (what else?).

Wyoming Cowboys flower pots are available at:
~ Wyoming on the Avenue
