Middle School Girls Tennis Meeting

There will be a meeting for all current 6th and 7th grade girls interested in tennis this Fall on Wednesday, May 27th at 3:15pm in the Wellness Center at Wyoming Middle School.  Meeting should last not more than 30 minutes.

The Big Finish

The Middle School Girls Tennis team finished their season with a big 4-1 win over Rapid Run/Oak Hills on Tuesday, September 30th.

What's With the Bus?

Maybe it was the anxiety of playing in front of everybody's hero, WMSMC majordomo, Mr. Overby, that led to the Middle School Girls Tennis team's 5-0 defeat by Nagel  on Monday, September 22nd, because we know it wasn't a lack of heart.

Despite the loss, the girls always come ready to fight.  Susan Osha reported from the Monday, September 29th match.

The WMS tennis team took on Seven Hills on Monday, 9/29. The clock proved to be as tough any opponent.  Emily Mayer and Anya Kirsch lost hard-fought singles matches by just one game, thanks to that clock. Ella Bryan played tough, but lost on court 3 singles. The doubles teams of Jenny Lewis/Eleanor Stall and Sophie Williams/Peyton Osha each posted wins, the latter in 7-5 tiebreaker.
As if the matches weren’t exciting enough, then there was the bus ride home. Ask one of the girls to tell you about it. School buses must be taller than 9’6”.

Tennis Thrills The Crowd.

Susan Osha reports to catch us all up on the week of WMS Girls Tennis

Tuesday, 9/16, the team traveled to Mason to play the Comets A team. Two matches went to tiebreakers to determine a winner. Anya Kirsch won her singles battle. The team of Eleanor Stall and Jenny Lewis fought hard, but ultimately the Mason team prevailed in this thrilling doubles match.
Overall, Wyoming 1, Mason 4

Wednesday, 9/17, the WMS tennis team faced off against Seven Hills.
Emily Mayer/Eleanor Stall won court 1 doubles, and Jenny Lewis/Peyton Osha took court three. Anya Kirsch/Sophie Williams‘ match was decided by a tiebreaker, ultimately ending in favor of the Seven Hills team.

Next match is Monday, 9/22, at Turpin HS, versus Nagel Middle School

Walnut Hills Whipped

Thursday, September 11th, the Middle School Girls Tennis team defeated Walnut Hills 3-2.

Next match is Tuesday, 9/16 at Mason.

MS Tennis in the Fight

Susan Osha reported for the WMS Girls Tennis team

Two great WMS tennis matches so far this week.

Monday, 9/8, a close 3-2 team loss to Nagel MS.  Cowboys dropped all three singles courts, but won both doubles matches.

Tuesday, 9/9, a clear Cowboy victory, 4-1 over Rapid Run MS.  All four matches won were won at LOVE! 6-0, 6-0 for the non-tennis folks out there.

Next up is Walnut Hills on Thursday, 9/11.

Middle School Tennis Takes on Mason

Susan Osha captured the Middle School Cowboys competing against the Comets on Thursday, August 28th.  The good guys didn't take any of the courts, but reports are that they played very well.

MS Tennis Takes Off

Susan Osha brings us the Girls MS Tennis news:

The WMS girls tennis team opened the season Wednesday (August 27th) at Princeton. The girls, led by coach Karlene Rumpke, fought hard against a tough opponent in 90+ degree heat.
The Vikings’ top talent was strong in the singles matches, dominating the Cowboys, Anya Kirsch 0-6, 0-6; Jenny Lewis 2-6, 2-6; and Katy Vanatsky 1-6, 4-6.
Cowboys showed great depth of talent, however, winning both doubles matches at “love”. Emily Mayer/Eleanor Stall and Sophie Williams/Peyton Osha handled their opponents without dropping a game.
Final:  Vikings 3, Cowboys 2
Thursday, the ladies travel to Mason to take on the Comets.
