MS Tennis Takes on Sycamore

Thursday, April 16th, the MS Boys Tennis team faced a tough Sycamore team.
Reports are that they played well with heads held high.

Strong in Seven Hills

Congratulations to the WMS Boys Tennis team on their 2nd place finish this week in the southwest Ohio team tennis tournament hosted by Seven Hills.  Our strong finish caps off a season winning record and a dominant performance in Division 2 competition.  Season highlights included an undefeated 1st singles regular season record for Joseph Kelly, a 2nd singles tournament championship for George Arenas, and team event match wins for 18 of our players.  The competitive depth of the team was unprecedented and the commitment and effort of the entire team showed in our results.  Great job!

Spring is in the Air

There will be a meeting for any 7th or 8th grade student interested in playing Boys' Tennis on February 18th at 6:30pm in the high school cafeteria.

Great Results for MS Boys Tennis

Sara Behrman sent us the good word from the Middle School Boy's Tennis Doubles Tournament

 

We had an amazing afternoon of tennis at Seven Hills today.  Our teams of Logan Armstrong/Walker Weekley plus Oliver Varland/ Gareth Norris played semi -final matches against teams that won their flights.  Congratulations to all four of these players for a great effort.  The spectacular play of Drew Moore and Joey Voss landed them in the finals of the third flight, playing a team from Seven Hills that they also faced during the season.  Drew and Joey played so well, but ended losing in a third set tie breaker.  We were so proud of how they conducted themselves during several very close line calls.

The Cowboys were well represented in this year's doubles tournament, with a record 3 teams making the final day of play.

MS Tennis Closes Up

Sara Behrman reports from the MS Boys Tennis Team's regular season closer on Thursday, May 9th.

The MS boy's tennis team finished the season with a victory Thursday over CHCA. Winners were Adam Behrman in singles and doubles teams of Oliver Varland/Gareth Norris and Joey Voss/Quinn Lemarr. Both George Arenas and Tim Schneider battled to third set tie breakers and lost very close matches. Our boys should be very proud of this season-- they all had fun, improved and showed tremendous sportsmanship!

The team will play in a Doubles Tournament hosted by Seven Hills next week.

Back and Forth for MS Tennis

Sara Behrman reported this week's Middle School Boys' Tennis action.

Tuesday, Wyoming lost 1-4 against Seven Hills, but George Arenas played a wonderful match at first singles winning 6-2/6-0. Several of our other players had competitive matches, with Adam Behrman at 2nd singles, Kendall Eyman at 3rd singles and doubles teams of Trevor Payne/Drew Moore and Gareth Norris/Oliver Varland.

Wyoming won our match against Summit Country Day 4-1 on Thursday. Adam Behrman won 6-0/6-0 at second singles, third singles was forfeited by Summit, and both doubles teams of Joey Voss/Drew Moore and Trevor Payne/ Quinn Lemarr overcame initial deficits to win their matches by wide margins. We have great momentum going in to our final week of regulation play.

The cowboys only have 3 matches remaining, followed by a year-end doubles tournament.

A Back and Forth Week for Boys MS Tennis

Results for the Boy's Middle School Tennis Team for the week of April 8th were as follows:

Sycamore Gold: We lost 1-4. Adam Behrman won second singles 6-0/6-2. 

 

Mason: We lost 2-3. George Arenas won first singles 2-6/7-5 (10-7), Adam Behrman won second singles 6-1/6-3.

 

Seven Hills: We won 3-2. Adam Behrman won second singles 6-0/6-0, Gareth Norris and Oliver Varland won first doubles 7-5/6-2 and Oliver Connelly and Quinn Lemarr won second doubles 6-4/6-4. 
 

The Cowboys won their match against Summit Country Day 4-1 yesterday. Trevor Payne won second singles 6-4/7-5, our doubles teams of Drew Moore/Joey Voss won 6-0/6-0 while Kendall Eyman/Quinn Lemarr won 6-2/6-3. We won third singles via forfeit.

Great job to the entire team. The boys have played some very tough matches this season!
