Crawford's Cowboys Crush 'em All

Friday, May 9th, was Senior Night for the Girls Lacrosse team.
It was also the beginning of a crazy successful weekend for the Cowboys.

Coach Crawford sent the following report.
The Wyoming HS Girls Lax team had a terrific display of offense on Friday as the Cowboys played McAuley HS at home for Senior Night.  The JV won 11-1 behind Goalie Grace Steiner.  Goals were scored by Madelyn Taylor (3), Annabelle Steiner (2), Elizabeth Hughes (2), Libby Fischer (2), Annie Boster (1), and Isabella Renggli (1).
The Varsity continued the offensive display by winning 16 - 2 over the Cougars.  Goalie Claire Mellott recorded 5 saves as goals were scored by Marielle Smith (4), Maggie Hughes (4), Adi Smith (2), Claire Crawford (2), Haley Stewart (2), Reilly Simmons (1), and Marta Stewart (1).
The Girls HS Lax Varsity squad traveled to Kings HS on Saturday to close out their regular season.  Down 2-4 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, the Cowboys went on a scoring run of 9 goals to close the half at 11-4.  They continued to play well and dominate play finishing the game with a final score of 12-8.  Strong defensive play by Grace Schneider, Grace Crawford, Carly Schlager, Emily Wood, and Emma Komrska held Kings to 20 shots and timely saves by Goalie Claire Mellott (6).  Offensively, goals scored were by Adi Smith (3), Marielle Smith (2), Maggie Hughes (2), Reilly Simmons (2), Marta Stewart (2), Olivia Cunningham (1), and Haley Stewart (1).  Draw Controls were lead by Olivia Cunningham (4) and Haley Stewart (4).
 The Varsity squad closes a great season at 9W-6L-1T with a 10th seed in the Division 2, Southern Ohio Region.  The Cowboys first round game is at Home on Wednesday, May 15, 6:30 game time, against McAuley HS.
