This Week in Wyoming Golf

From Coach Crider

The Wyoming HS Boys Varsity Golf team wrapped up a stellar week of competition on Wednesday.  On Monday, the Cowboys defeated the Elder “B” team by a score of 163 – 167 @ Deer Run golf course.  Junior Henry Moore, Freshman Sam Marty and Sophomore Stephen Cholvat posted rounds of 40 for Wyoming.

On Tuesday, Wyoming took on Hamilton Badin and Roger Bacon in a tri-match @ Potter’s Park golf course in Hamilton.  The Cowboys took home a dramatic come from behind victory over Badin and a convincing win over Roger Bacon.  Wyoming and Badin finished tied @ 168 – 168 after the low four players posted their scores, but the Cowboys notched the victory in a scorecard playoff by a single stroke (45 – 46).  Wyoming’s 168 also bested Roger Bacon’s score of 198.  Junior Chris Betagole led the Cowboys with a 39.

Finally, on Wednesday, the Cowboys took on Loveland HS, which is coached by Wyoming HS Alum Andy Fredette.  Loveland entered the match undefeated on the year but the Cowboys earned a hard fought 167 – 177 victory.  Led once again by Henry Moore, who shot an even par 36 @ Wyoming Golf Club, the Cowboys raised their record to 22 – 4 for the year.

The team returns to action next Monday in an important CHL match versus Reading @ Sharon Woods.

Great Job, Guys!!
