Tennis time/location change
The girls will play at 9:15 tomorrow morning at Queen City Racquet Club on Chester Rd just past Princeton HS. They have 2 matches with 30 minutes in between them. It is indoor and we will be looking down at them from the open viewing area. The girls willl be on early and it's only 2 rounds of singles and 2 rounds of doubles.
As a reminder, it's the semi finals and finals of districts. All four teams playing, Wyoming, CHCA, Oakwood and Charminade-Julienne have qualified for State. The matches will determe the seeding of the four teams to influence the draw for State.

Football leaders
The Enquirer posted football stats today, across all Divisions. Wyoming's Kyle Seyfried is 2nd in passing yardage with 1,647. Not surprisingly our receivers were well represented: Harry Meisner at 5th with 510 reception yards, Evan Aleshire 7th with 465 and Jonathan Tighe 16th with 375. Isiah Nearor is 18th in scoring with 68 pionts. Finally, the Offense as a whole came in at 4th place with 2,898 total yards.
Wyoming Girls Tennis Wraps up Great Season

On Wednesday afternoon, sadly, our tennis team fell to Indian Hill. Admittedly, they are a tough team, but we were hoping to pull off a win to make it to the state team tourney. This match was the end of a great season. Hopefully, actually certainly, over the next year our returning players will develop at a faster rate than our rival team. Cowboys get those Braves!!
The Indian Hill match was played indoors yesterday due to inclimate weather so once Indian Hill was up 3-0, the other two matches were stopped so that we could return the courts to the Camargo Club members. It was generous for Camargo to offer their indoor courts.
Though great effort was given -- our losses came with Stefani Zorn at 3rd singles: Sarah Gibbons/Meredith Hennessy at 2nd doubles: and Tess Thoresen who fought hard at 2nd singles. The two halted matches involved Ashley Berg/Olivia Hennessy at 1st doubles who were up 4-3 in the second set after losing the first set 5-7; and, Maddie Bourbon’s 1st singles match which was only in its second game.
To wrap up the season -- we finished in 2nd place in the CHL behind Indian Hill. Our record in the CHL was 6-1; overall 15-5. We will miss our seniors and wish Kate Bucher, Olivia Hennessy, Rachael Montgomery and Stefani Zorn a lifelong love of the game of tennis, many happy memories of Wyoming tennis and best wishes for a bright future. Asst. Coach, Chris Hemingway deserves kudos for his encouragement and involvement. And --- MANY THANKS to Coach Rodney Miller for an enjoyable season and countless hours and dedication over the years to Wyoming High School tennis.

Berg and Thoresen qualify for the State Tourney
Wyoming Girls Tennis is still to be represented at State next week in the individuals' side of the State tournament!
Ashley Berg and Tess Thoresen won both of their district doubles matches yesterday and will advance to the State tourney!! They are the first Wyoming Girls to go to State. First they beat Summit Country Day (Hart/Mahon) 6-4, 7-5. An hour later they played a really tough team from Carroll. They won the first set 6-4, struggled in the second 3-6, and then finished up for a victory with 6-4. Ashley, a freshman and Tess, a sophmore were among the youngest duo today at districts.
Four doubles teams go to state and they include: Wyoming, CHCA (Baxter/Faugno), Charminade- Julienne, and Oakwood. The latter 2 schools are in the Dayton area. These 4 teams will play each other for the semi-finals and finals to determine placement/seeding at the ATP Center in Mason this Saturday. Start time for Tess and Ashley will be around 12 noon to play Oakwood in the semis after Div I singles and doubles and Div II singles start at 9. The state tourney is Friday 9/22 and Saturday 9/23 at Ohio State in Columbus. Their hard work and perseverance has paid off. Let's cheer these Wyoming girls on!

Girls soccer honors seniors
The girls soccer team honored its seniors before their game with Indian Hill on Wednesday.
Oh, by the way, you remember they won the game 1-0, right?
And that they won the CHL.
And that they finished the regular season UNDEFEATED!!!
Just checking. Now back to the matter at hand, the seniors. Congratulations on a great regular season and great careers.

Girls soccer beats Indian Hill, clinches CHL title, undefeated regular season
Wyoming's 1-0 win last night over Indian Hill improved its league record to 5-0-2. That combined with Madeira's 3-2 loss to Mariemont gives the Cowboys the league championship. Mariemont and Madiera are both 5-1-1 in the league.
The girls are now 13-0-2 on the season.
Michelle Jolson scored the sole goal in Wyoming's 1-0 triumph.

Alexa Levick was credited with 10 saves en route to her 12th shutout of the year.
Immediately following the recongition of the seniors, Athletic Director Jim Barre presented Coach Siler with a plaque commemorating her 100th victory as head coach last week.
Next up: 1st round tournament game at home against Georgetown next Monday, the 19th at 7 PM.
Tennis doubles team of Ashley Berg and Tess Thoreson plays today
The girls are playing at Mercy Fairfield today. Unfortunately we don't know when Ashley and Tess will be hitting the courts. It can be at 9:30 or even after lunch. At least it will be warm inside! Good luck girls.
