I haven't heard yet how the Baseball team's road trip went overall, but I did get some great pictures of the team's Tennessee action thanks to Jon Marty.
Don't live vicariously through the lens of Mr. Marty. Make sure you get out to see the team for yourself this season.

News From the Road
DOBO, John Brown sent the following news from the Baseball team down in Tennessee.
A great start to our regular season today (, as we started the season down in Nashville. Our season opener was against Grundy County. Casey Howell started pitching and recorded the win. Sophomore Sam Marty relieved and recorded the save. Tucker Marty was a huge contribution on the offensive side going 2 for 2 with 3 RBIs, and Casey Howell had a 3 run home run as well as we went on to win 12-1.
In our second game we faced Centersville. This game was a defensive battle as we won 3-1. Tucker Marty started this game and pitched 6 and a third innings. His cousin, Will, relieved him in the seventh and ended the game with a huge strikeout. This defensive game was led by junior second basemen Sam Izenson. We continue to play 3 more games through the spring break trip to baseball, starting with Marshall County tomorrow.

Girls' Lacrosse Season Opener
The Wyoming Girls Lax team opened their 2014 season at home Saturday against the Division 1 Springboro Panthers. Interest and excitement in girls lacrosse program in 2014 has lead to an expanded Cowboy roster and includes both JV and Varsity squads.
The JV squad recorded a strong showing that included a very close and exciting first half with the Cowboys leading 3 - 2 at halftime highlighted by offensive control and defensive stops. The second half remained scoreless for 7 minutes of play until the Panthers scored back-to-back goals to take the lead. After a furious effort to recapture the lead with separate shots on goal, the Cowboys ran out of time in their push to retake the lead. Late goals by Springboro added to the final score differential, but the final score of 8 - 3 was not indicative to the closeness of the game or the solid opening goalie performances by sophomore Claire Mellott and freshmen Grace Steiner.
Next up, a Tuesday night matchup with Mother of Mercy HS played at Western Hills HS, JV game time is 6:00pm and Varsity game time is 7:15pm.

And the Winners Are...
You have to love truth in advertising. It was called a Fun Run and if there were any doubts, the image above proves it.
The Wyoming School Foundation would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our runners who participated in our 3rd annual 5K FUNRUN, held Saturday, March 15th. We had a total of 561 participants--many of whom were Primary School students, running a 5K for the first time.
It was a great morning to be a Wyoming resident--running a race, then heading over to the Civic Center for the Wyoming Youth Services sponsored Pancake breakfast.
That is what you would call "delicious fun".
Special thanks to our Platinum Sponsors:
Bob Roncker's Running Spot--for providing runners with a gift certificate for FREE pair of running socks.
Graeters--for providing runners with a certificate for a FREE ice cream cone.
Ulmer and Berne, Wyoming Business Association and Viox Services--for their continued support of the 5K FUNRUN.
Denise Koesterman of Keller-Williams Realtors--for providing the swag bags.
BSN sports--for their assistance with the t-shirts.
Extra Special thanks to Wyoroundup Blog for helping us get the word out!
Winners of the divisional brackets received a 1st place Medal.

The RoundUp, like your mother, wants to remind you to say "Thank You" to the Co-Chairs of the event, Shelly Komrska and Allison Lebuhn
and to all of the many volunteers who sacrificed part of their Saturday to help make this a great experience for all.
I'm no good with movie trivia, wasn't there a movie that had something to do with baseball where they said, "If you cook it outside, they will come."?
Peanuts and Cracker Jacks
If it's felt like forever since you've been out and cheer on a Cowboy athlete, here's an idea.
On Saturday, March 22nd, the Baseball teams are scrimmaging at Legacy Field at Prasco Park. Varsity starts at 3:30 and JV starts at 6.
