I posted about the Baseball team's fundraiser Going Yard the other day.  It wasn't your ordinary post; it was also an eye-test.  We've been trying to identify those in our community with super-human electron-microscope type vision.  Some of you have passed and will be contacted shortly by nondescript men in dark sunglasses.  For those of us who didn't eat all of our carrots as kids, I have attached the flyer HERE so you can download it and view it at whatever scale is appropriate.   Of course, seeing infinitesimally small  details is a great power to have.  Even better is being able to see the big picture - the picture where even if you're completely capable of doing some of this yard work yourself you still give a group of young men the opportunity to work to earn (as opposed to asking for or just expecting) funds for their team.

Our Man Lackey

Congratulations to Gerry Lackey, the AP Division II state Coach of the Year.

The 5 Stages of a Post

Okay, right.  It's been a few days since the end of the Boys Basketball season.  Writing up the sad news is just as tough for me as Math is for Barbie.  I spent a few days in denial - you know you can't trust everything you read on the Interweb.  Then when I tried to write, I just got angry because kept misspelling lost as won.  Then after I got that sorted, I had to bargain with the higher powers that be to send me some game details, which just depressed me.  Now I've come to accept it though.

What an amazing season.  And to have it go on for as long as it did was icing on an already sweet cake.  I'll leave the final details and analysis to Scott Springer at Cincinnati.com.  Check out his article HERE

Keep on the lookout, I expect to have some pictures soon.

The State of Max

Max Hoffman became Wyoming High’s first ever Indoor All-Ohioan, placing 7th in the 3200m run at the OATCCC State Indoor Championships, Saturday night at the University of Akron.  Max’s time was a very impressive 9:54.63.

Thanks to Coach Knickel for the news

What A Way to Start

From Coach Crawford,

The girls HS lax team made a fine preseason showing this past Saturday at the Cincinnati Girls Lax Playday held at Sycamore HS against Middletown Fenwick, Dayton-Chaminade, and Walnut Hills coming out ahead in all three scrimmages.   Next up, a preseason scrimmage at Home this coming Saturday, March 15, beginning at 1:00 PM against Walnut Hills.

Watch Out for the Left Turn in Albuquerque

With the track season set to start here at home, Coach Knickel updated us on Cowboy alum' Emily Stites, who, with her William and Mary teammate, were the first of the women tribe to break 16 minutes in the 5000m event.  They are headed to the NCAA Indoor National Championships in Albuquerque in two weeks.

Check out the Tribe Athletics site for the full story HERE
