Stites in Front

Coach Glendenning sent us the good news from the Cross Country meet at Greenville on Saturday, August 31.

The highlight of the day was in the Boys Varsity race as Ben Stites got his first race victory in 16:31. He defeated a field of runners from 14 teams, including 8 state-ranked teams. 6 of the top 13 D2 teams in the state competed.

Full results from our races on Saturday at Greenville are available here:

Our next meet is the Greenon 2 Mile on Tuesday 9/10.

Serving Up Thanks

Carol Leish and the Boosters sent in the following to thank the volunteers who helped with concessions in Friday's Football score-fest against Aiken.

A great start to the new season! Many thanks to
Liz Weis and Jenny Moore,
... this cute couple, Robbie and Tom Schlager,
Allison LeBuhn and Martha Weekley,
Judd Weis, Denise Koesterman and Ted Stewart.
Denise and Judd even had a competition in the end to see who could sell the most to clear the inventory which ended up being a tie. Challenge is on now for these two trusty workers to see who will win at the next game. Thank you also to Misty Maxwell who helped in the stand but was not photographed.

I didn't catch that I used an incorrect link to additional pictures from the Boys' Varsity Soccer win over Madeira on August 27th.
So to make right all wrongs, HERE is the link to the additional Deb Varland pictures.

The Hot Dusty Trail

Coach Nocks sent us a few highlights from the Fairfield Invitational Cross Country Meet where our Middle School teams competed on Wednesday, August 28th.

Everyone ran well, especially in the heat. Some stand out runners were
8th grader Robbie Trapp that finished 10th out of 145 runners with a time of 12:26
8th grader Emma Levine that finished 15th out of 108 runners with a time of 14:23
7th grader Luca Napora that finished 12th out of 109 runners with a time of 13:37

Their next meet is Thursday, September 12th at Sycamore.  Come out and support the team.

Thanks to Coach Nocks for the highlights and the pictures.

Falcons Fettered Indeed

Bernie Barrie Field was baptized in victory on Friday, August 30.  They Cowboys hosted Aiken for the season opener.  It was a lop-sided result with the Cowboys taking it 49-0.  A more in-depth review of the game will be coming soon as we have lined up a new reporter who is hard at work as we speak.  So stay tuned.
Thanks to Rod Apfelbeck for the sweet pictures.

It's Official

On Friday, August 30, the field at Bob Lewis Stadium was dedicated as the Bernie Barre Field.

Before the ceremony, there was a reception for former players in the cafeteria.
I wasn't there, I don't know exactly what went on, but I'm guessing there was a pick-up game of tackle through the hallways as evidenced by all those walking out with bandages and canes.
Obviously, a good time was had by all.
Congratulations, Mr. Barre.
Thanks to our roving reporter, Rod Apfelbeck, for being there to capture the action.

JV Falls to Moeller

After some head scratching, our IT department has figured out how to post the pictures provided by Leila Derge from the Boys' JV Soccer match against Moeller.  The Cowboy's couldn't carry the day against a strong Moeller team and fell 0-4.
Thanks again to Leila Derge for sending us the great pictures.
