Bacon Gets Chewed Up

From John Brown,

Tuesday, April 22nd, Wyoming won 12-5 over Roger Bacon. Hayden Sharp got the win, pitching 6 innings and giving up just 1 walk. Henry Moore pitched the last inning, earning the save. Batting wise, Casey Howell led the team going 4-5 with 5 RBI and 4 stolen bases. This makes the Cowboys 10-4, 3-1 at The Ranch.

Football Meeting

I posted a picture of someone preparing food for the masses at an outdoor sporting event yesterday.  Sure they were pancakes and not hot, juicy burgers, but I think I awoke the Football gods.  Coach Hancock sent word about the upcoming Football Parent Meeting.

I'm not sure if refeshments will be served, but there will be lots of Gatorade come Fall.

Football Parent Meeting:
Thursday, May 9th at 7pm in the Pendery Auditorium at the High School

Reading Ruined at The Ranch

Varsity DOBO, John Brown has a knack for delivering the good news

Today (April 22nd) was a big win over Reading, 4-2. This was our first win over Reading in 3 years, thanks to the pitching of Michael Kelly. Kelly pitched a complete game, allowing 5 hits and just one walk. Henry Moore went 2-3 with 2 RBIs, and Will Marty went 1-2 with 2 runs scored.

Max Power

The Wyoming Living article about the 5K Fun Run was great.  We noticed that the overall 5k Winner was Sophomore Max Hoffman.  Max is off to a great year.  It's only April and he's already earned 4 season or personal best times this year (according to Milesplit).
In an exciting "Look What's Around The Bend", the Female Overall 5K winner was 8th Grader Kamaria Walton.
Successfully smashing all stereotypes about "those who can - do, and those who can't - teach", Wyoming Track Coach Greg Knickle took top honors in the Mens 60+ class.
Not to be outdone, our own Wyoming Ultimate Frisbee Coach George White sailed in with the best time in the Mens 50-59 class.

Is there any sporting event where Wyoming doesn't try to cook outdoors?

This Recent Week in the TCP

This week (or last... I'm kinda late)  there was a lot of Cowboy action in the Tri-County Press.

There was a mid-season pre-season article about local Tennis teams, including our own Cowboys complete with a great picture of Sophomore Will Carter.  There was also a write-up about the teams twin-win over Finneytown and Taylor on April 10th.

Also, there was a blurb for the Boys Track win at the Coaches Classic that included a sweet shot of Junior Terrell Dailey.

And the Baseball Team's 16-3 5 inning romp over Deer Park made the news as well.

Not to be left out, the Girls' Lacrosse Team got their props for the 7-2 whipping of Indian Hill.

Finally, the Boys' Lacrosse team got a write-up for their heartbreaker against Milford on April 10th, that included a nice shot of Junior David Moody.

Cowboys Out On The Trail

The Wyoming Boys Varsity Tennis Team was invited to the St. X Louisville Jamboree this weekend.  They represented southwest Ohio while competeing against top teams in the regions. State ranked teams from Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio were invited.
Thanks to Bob Carter for being there to capture the action, and to Coach Plattenburg for the report.

Jackrabbits Unstoppable in Ultimate

From Coach George White

The Wyoming High School varsity Ultimate team, known as the Jackrabbits, shook off prom cobwebs Sunday to beat a previously undefeated Turpin team, to run their record to 6-0, winning 11-10 on a sparkling "Universe Point" grab in the endzone by senior Khafra Flynn on a long throw from Senior Eric Reichwein. It was Khafra's fifth score of the day, and Eric's seventh scoring throw. The Cowboys turned in a solid team effort, with strong defensive play from seniors David Weinrich and Katie Scholles, among others.
This year, the co-ed high school Ultimate program, which competes in the 28-team Cincinnati high school Ultimate league, has more than 50 players, and has a varisty and reserve team. The reserve team dropped a 12-5 decision to Moeller/Mt. Notre Dame today (April 21st) to drop to 2-4.
Wyoming will complete the regular season next Sunday (April 28th), with the varsity playing Clark Montessori at 1 and the reserve playing St. X/Ursuline Academy at 2:45. Both games are at the Rec Center, and the public is invited. The season-ending tournament is Saturday, May 4 in Lebanon

Lacrosse Can't Overcome Indian Hill

The Boys Lacrosse game on Friday, April 19th at Indian Hill didn't go our way.  The good guys lost 1-11.  Oliver  Reinecke scored the lone goal assisted by John Hughes.  Frank Barzizza had 7 saves, while Nicholas Robles won 8 of 15 Face Offs.
On Monday, April 22nd, the team hosts Oakwood at 6pm.  Come out and support the team as they look to lump the Lumberjacks.

Thanks to Maryann Hughes for the stats.

Heartbreak in Reading

On Thursday, April 18th, the Baseball team was hosted by Reading where they just missed the win.  Revenge will be served up on Monday, April 22nd, when the Cowboys invite Reading to the Ranch (Crosley Field at the Blue Ash Sports Complex) for a 4:30 beat-down.
Thanks to Rod Apfelbeck for catching these great shots.
