This Week in the TCP

Ok, so I'm a little late.  Below is a link to the recent Tri-County Press issue where you will find an interview with Will Marty, as well as overage of Wyoming Football, Golf, Tennis, and Volleyball.  Also, there is a photo by Rod Apfelbeck that is either an ad for Excedrin or a great action shot of our Junior Jarod Heidotting (you be the judge).

HERE is the link.

What's Happening!!

No, this isn't a plug for your favorite TV show from the 70's.  Have you noticed the new and improved calendar of upcoming events at the top of the page?  We can't give credit to Raj or Rerun for that.  We have Middle School Principle Extraordinaire Mike Overbey to thank for keeping us all in the know.

You might also want to check your link for the upcoming events from the USA Today High School Sports site.  There has been some recent changes at that site and your link may need to be updated.

Middle School Cross Country has a great start

The Middle School Cross Country team started the season with great finishes for both the Girls and the Boys.  The Girls team won (33 to Walnut Hill's 62), and the boys came in second (77 behind Fairfield's 44).

Emily Stites seat on the Cross Country team bus isn't even cold yet and it seems like we have a few girls that might try to fill it one day.  Wyoming's Kaelyn Gilliam (14:20) took first followed close behind by Isabella Renggli (14:23) and not another runner in site for 9 more seconds.

What a great start to the season.  Coach Nocks has a lot to be proud of and Coach Glendenning has a lot to look forward to.

You have pictures and we want them

The economic slowdown has hit everyone hard.  We here at the Round-Up are no different.  You may have noticed the reduced quality of the posts.  We have had to downgrade to a second (all right third) rate writer.  We have also downsized some of our volunteer photographers to part-time.  So that leaves an opportunity for you to showcase some of your own talents.  We would like to see your pictures!

We are not Sports Illustrated and we aren’t expecting professional grade photos.   Keep in mind, though, that a cell phone picture from the opposite end of the field may not be clear enough to really convey the action that the picture was trying to capture.  Also, pictures do not have to be action shots during game play, pictures of fans or pre and post game shots of the team can really help to tell a story.  Pictures (JPEG format with filenames NOT using athlete’s names) should be attached (not inserted) to an email addressed to wyoroundup@gmail.com .  There is no guarantee that your pictures will be included in the Round-Up.  Also, we will try to spread the recognition around and include pictures of many athletes, so please try to include pictures of other players on the team, not just your son or daughter.  Make sure to give the photographer's name so we can give credit where credit is due.
