Cross Country Results from Greenville

On Saturday, both boys and girls teams competed in the White Division races (primarily DI) and finished 10th and 11th, respectively.  Our boys leaders were Ben Stites and Ian Goertzen, finishing less than a second apart in 23rd and 24th places with times of 17:34.  Katie Spray was closely followed by Sammy Schwartz in the front of our girls pack.  This Saturday we are at the Mason Invitational which will be our first chance to see some of our local DII competition.

Wyoming Boys Varsity Soccer slays Deer Park

Senior Midfielder David Weinrich scored two goals to lead the Wyoming Cowboys in their victory over Deer Park 3-0 on Tuesday, September 4th at Wyoming High School. Weinrich's 1st goal came at the 32:52 mark in the first half when he finished a cross and assist from Senior Midfielder Daniel Richtand. The second goal came at the 27:13 mark in the first half when Senior Midfielder Otto Warmbier sent in a cross which Weinrich finished. The third goal came at the 22:23 mark in the second half from Junior Midfielder Ryan Derge who finished a direct kick from 25 yards out. Wyoming's defense, led by Seniors Todd Goodall, Shane Burck and Juniors Drew Wayman and Jared Heidotting limited Deer Park to only 3 shots the entire game. Senior Harrison Glover logged his 4th shut-out this season. The Cowboys are now 4-0-2 and face Talawanda on Saturday, September 8th at 7 pm in Oxford.

I know the guys are good, but maybe they might be getting a little over-confident.  When you have time to play Patty-Cake, or some kind of balancing act, or Ring-Around-The-Rosie, things might be out of hand.

Many thanks to our Cowboy Volunteers for sweating it out in the concession stand and grill at last Friday night's first football game.  It could not have operated without the help of Jenny Moore, Denise & Skip Koesterman, Allison LeBuhn, Kim & Ted Stewart, Liz Weis, Doug Krekeler, George Lewis, Laura & Bo Bottenhorn and Lynn & Don Larson.  It was incredibly busy but they still managed to serve, slice, wrap, grill, stock, pop, clean and organize, all with smiles and chuckles.  Thank you Gang!   - From Carol Leish

White-Out Wyoming

The football team would like to encourage everyone attending the Middletown Madison game next Friday, September 7 to participate in White-Out Wyoming! You can participate by wearing a white Cowboys shirt and cheering your Cowboys to a win.

Boy's Varsity Golf swings past Finneytown

On Tuesday, our boys' shot 163 to be FORE-teen strokes better than Finneytown's 177.

Girls Volleyball Stuffs Glen Este

The Varsity Girls Volleyball team beat Glen Este in two sets yesterday 25-9 and 25-17 and are now 4-1 on the season and on a three game winning streak.  They travel to Indian Hill for a conference game on Tuesday, September 4.  JV plays at 5:30 and the Varsity plays at 6:30.

Football Community Film Night

Due to the Labor Day Weekend, this week's Community Film Night has been moved to Tuesday at 7PM

Wyoming Football loses to Turpin

The Cowboys who had tied up the game in the third quarter couldn't go ahead for the win last night and fell to Turpin 14-34.  The night wasn't without highlights.  Will Marty dominated the air by completing 13 of 33 passing attempts for 174 yards while the defense held Turpin to only 76 yards passing.  We had big one-off runs by Dawson Rogers (39 yards), Brandford Darlington, and Jalen Fox, as well as consistent yards gained by Terrell Dailey and Will Marty. All the while, the defense limited Turpin to just a few plays for more than 10 yards.  They stay at home next week to host Middletown Madison.

A lot of people have to put in a lot of work to make the football season a success.  So here's a big thank you to everyone who helps out. 

 

And you know your efforts have not been in vain when you see this many young people assembled in one place and there isn't a cell phone, iPod, iPad or set of headphones to be found.

 

And how can they not get excited when they see this?

Boy's Varsity Soccer ties with Princeton

Wyoming and Princeton battled to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, August 30th at Wyoming High School. Wyoming scored first at the 24:40 mark in the first half on a long throw in from Defender Drew Wayman which was deflected off the head of a Princeton defender and found the back of the net. Princeton came back and evened things up at the 10:43 mark in the first half when CJ Thompson placed a rebounded shot into the upper right corner of the net. Wyoming will face League Rival Deer Park next Tuesday Night, September 4th at home. Game time is 7 pm.
