Softball tourney bracket set

The softball sectional tournament bracket has been set.

Our first game is at Talawanda next Tuesday, the 8th at 5 p.m.

Munneke walk-off single propels softball past Madeira

Freshman Olivia Munneke's walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh propelled the softball team to a 3-2 victory over Madeira. 

The team congratulates Olivia on her game-winning RBI.

The bases were juiced when Olivia came to bat with Patty Williams (who scored the winning run), Audra Chalmers and Carly Heuer.

Patty was 2-3 with a double and Clara Rodrigue had the other two runs batted in.

Gabby Potvin got the win.

Baseball loses to Madeira

The baseball team lost to Madeira yesterday afternoon to split with them for the season.

Offensive leaders for the Cowboys were Max Kadish, who was 3-4 with a double, Adam Crider, who was 2-5 with a double, and Will Marty, who was 2-4.

Next up: at Mariemont (Fairfax Elementary) tomorrow at 4:30.

Girls' lax splits with Indian Hill

On Monday, April 30, the WHS Girls LAX JV and Varsity teams split with Indian Hill at home.

The JV team won 8-4. Goals were scored by Kelsey Cramer (2) Becky Denson (2) Adi Smith (2) Allee Martin (1) and Emma Komrska (1). Assists were recorded by Becky Denson (1), Claire Crawford (1) and Emily Wadds (1). Ali Vamosi had 6 goalie saves.

The Varsity team lost 16-7 in a game stopped at 11:02 in the second half due to lightning in the area. Goals were scored by Claire Crawford (3), Carly Levick (2), Adi Smith (1) and Marta Stewart (1). Assists were recorded by Allee Martin (1) and Emily Hughes (1). Emily Wadds had 11 goalie saves.

Boys' tennis loses to CHCA 4-1

The boys' tennis team continues down murderer's row, playing state #7 CHCA on the heels of playing state #4 Bexley last Friday.

Luke Prather lost at first singles.

Michael Montgomery, at second singles, lost 1-6, 2-6.

Will Carter won at third singles 6-3, 6-2.

Myles Bourbon-Niki Plattenburg lost at first doubles 1-6, 3-6.

Jeremy Smucker-Alex Mangas lost at second doubles 1-6, 1-6.

Next up: at Walnut Hills Thursday at 4 PM.
