Softball tames Taylor 5-3

The softball team beat Taylor last night 5-3.

Gabby Potvin (6-3) picked up the win for the Cowboys.

Leading the offense was Audra Chalmers, who went 4-4.  Also doing damage with the lumber (I know it's not really lumber) were Clara Merten, who was 2-4, Katie Horn, who was also 2-4 and had a pair of RBI's, and Carly Heuer, who was 3-4 with one run batted in.

Next up: Monday at Deer Park at 4:30.  Deer Park is 9-1, having lost its first game of the season yesterday 8-6 against Reading.

Tennis trounces Taylor

The boys' tennis team swept Taylor Wednesday afternoon 5-0.

Mason Bourbon defeated D. Rapking 6-0, 6-0;

Gustav Plattenburg d. T. Rapking 6-1, 6-0;

Luke Prather d. Engles 6-1, 6-1;

Matt Sumner-Hebert Sherrod d. Salamone-Allen 6-1, 6-1;

Alex Mangas-Harrison Belew d. Rueve-Sullivan 6-1, 6-1.

Next up: big match Friday afternoon at Indian Hill at 4.

Boys' lacrosse defeats Springboro 5-4

The boys' lacrosse team defeated Springboro last night at Bob Lewis Stadium by the score of 5-4.


Tyler Cornelius led the scoring with three goals.


Sam Meyers and Corbin Guggenheim added one each.



Goalie Michael Sagan had nine saves.

Next up: home Satuday against Sylvania Northview - varsity at 3:30, JV at 5:30.

Audra Chalmers - softball - game winning catch Monday against Indian Hill and went 4/4 against Mariemont last week.
 
 
Matt Sumner - tennis - went 4-1 in a difficult field of competition this weekend in Louisville.

Terry Davis gets another scholarship offer

Terry Davis was offered a scholarship last Friday to play football at Ball State.

So far his choices are Indiana, Ohio, Toledo, Bowling Green, Kent State, Akron and now Ball State.

Baseball, Softball at Indian Hill postponed

Today's varsity baseball game at Indian Hill has been postponed until May 3rd. 

Today's varsity softball game at Indian Hill has been postoned until May 9th.

JV games are postponed to the same dates but are home games.

Boys' lacrosse lashes Lebanon

The boys' lacrosse team went to Lebanon Monday night and came home with a 15-7 victory.

Goalie Michael Sagan had 29 saves.

Offensive leaders were Austin Hughes with six goals and two assists and Tyler Cornelius with five goals and three assists.

Harrison Wood, David Zanoni, Nick Kamphaus and Noah Sidley contributed one goal each.

Next up: at home Wednesday night - JV at 5, Varsity at 7.

Girls' lacrosse loses to Kings

The girls' lacrosse team took on Kings Monday night at home.

The JV final was 2-9 with Wyoming goals by Allee Martin and Megan Lawler.

Goalie Maya Candadai had a fantastic save percentage of 62.5% (college goalies usually look for 60-65%).
 
The Varsity final was 10-15.
 

Scoring for the Cowboys were Laura Cress (2), Mary Jane Fischer (3), Julie King (1), and Mary Tess Irvine (4).


Next up: at CHCA Wednesday, Varsity only at 7:30.

The baseball team defeated Indian Hill yesterday afternoon 6-2.

Next up: Today's game vs. CNE is cancelled.  Tomorrow they're scheduled at Indian Hill, Thursday at Taylor and Friday at home vs. Talawanda.  We'll see how the weather cooperates.
