Boys bowling beats Mt. Healthy.

The Wyoming boys bowling team beat the Mt. Healthy Owls by 500 pins yesterday.  Leading the way Joe Meier had the high game of 202, while Nick Burns had the high two game series of 393. The boys are 6-1 overall so far this season.

Our reserve team enjoyed a win as well with Punit Akkinepalli with two 156 games.

Allix Hillebrand continues to shine for the girls team with 155 and 160 games. 

Next up: a rematch with Deer Park at Strikes and Spares on Thursday, and Roger Bacon at home on Friday.  All games start at 4pm and a cheering section is always welcome.

Girls basketball loses to Badin by two

The girls basketball team played a tough Hamilton Badin team last night and lost 36-38. Badin is currently ranked #2 in the city. Nikki McKee led all scorers with 15 points. Michelle Jolson led with 3 assists and Nikki led with 7 steals.

The girls are currently 4-2 overall, 3-1 in the CHL, 2nd place.

Next up: at home Saturday night vs. CHL league member Deer Park, JV at 6, Varsity at 7:30

Jibreel Black named to Ohio Varsity All-Ohio first team

This is the Ohio Varsity All-Ohio team.  It includes players from all divisions.  It's online but a subscription site.  Jibreel Black was named to the first team defensive unit.

Wrestlers place 4th of 14 at Norwood Invitational

Wyoming took fourth place out of fourteen teams at yesterday's Norwood Adam Cox Invitational.

In addition, Neal was named Most Outstanding Wrestler.

Boys basketball loses close one to Mason

The boys basketball team lost a close one at Mason last night, 48-45.  Tony Davis had the hot hand once again, leading the way with 19 points.  Joining Tony in double figures was Kyle Seyfried, who added 10.

The Cowboys led through three with a 38-36 lead.

Next up: Friday at Deer Park.  Frosh at 4:30, JV at 6, Varsity at 7:30.

Random Sports Fact

The ideal knuckleball should complete less than a single rotation on its way to home plate.  Its erratic path is created by the difference in air molecules traveling over the baseball's seams and smooth surfaces.

St. X Swim Meet

Well, there wasn't a whole lot of information in the paper about the swim meet at St. Xavier on Wednesday which included St. X, Fishers, University School and Wyoming.

However, it did report that we won three events:

Jonathan Profitt - 100 Breast Stroke - 59.66

Celia Oberholzer - 50 Free - 26.16

Celia Oberholzer - 100 Back - 1:00.87

Next up: at Cincinnati Country Day next Tuesday at 4 PM.

Boys basketball splits games

The Roundup was out of town without internet service so just catching up.  The boys basketball team split a pair of games this week, beating Lockland 52-40 on Monday night at Wyoming and losing Wednesday night at Dayton Northridge 69-59.

In the Lockland game, Tony Davis led the way with 19 points and 15 rebounds.  Eric Price had a big game as well with 13 points and 17 rebounds.

Against Dayton Northridge, Tony was the only player in double figures, pouring in 26.  We got down early, trailing 25-11 at the end of the first quarter.  We closed the gap each of the next three quarters but it was just too much to overcome.
