Wyoming's Walk Off WIns

Coach Fiehrer sent in the good word for the Baseball team's season openers.

The Wyoming Baseball teams had exciting finishes on Saturday as they opened their seasons.

JV baseball lead Roger Bacon early 8 to 0.  Roger Bacon fought back and the game was tied 9 to 9.  Nate Harper shut the door on the mound in the top of the 7th inning.  In the bottom of the 7th after several Cowboys got on base Peyton Ogle hit a walk off single to win the game for the Cowboys!  Although a single in the book, the ball was absolutely crushed over the left fielder's head.

Varsity baseball opened their season as well vs. Roger Bacon.  The Cowboys won in walk off fashion after Andrew Marty was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th.

Wyoming had a strong effort on the mound on Saturday.  Sam Marty went 4 innings allowed 1 unearned run.  Joe Rominger threw one inning relief allowing one run and Tucker Marty earned the win with 2 innings of relief giving up one run.

Offensively the Cowboys got things started in the bottom of the 3rd with a Grady McMichen 2 out RBI single knocking in Connor Eldredge to take a one run lead.  Roger Bacon tied tied the game in the top of the 4th.   The Cowboys came right back in the bottom of the 4th to regain the lead.  Brendan Madden singled.  Ike Mitchell pinch ran and promptly stole second base.  Prajit Goli knocked Ike in with a 2 out RBI single.  Roger Bacon scored a run in the top of the 5th to tie the game and then another in the top of the 7th to take the lead.  This led to the bottom of the 7th inning.  Prajit Goli lead off the inning with a walk in the bottom of the 7th.  After stealing second base Sam Izenson hit a clutch RBI single to the tie the game.  Sam then avoided a near pick off to take second base during the next at bat.  After a Connor Eldredge strike out Tucker Marty doubled to center field.  With runners on second and third and one out, Roger Bacon walked Grady McMichen to load the bases.  Andrew Marty worked a 3-1 count before being hit by a pitch allowing the winning run to cross the plate.

Not sure we have ever had JV and Varsity both win on walk off in the bottom of the 7th on the same day.
