When Coach White is involved, the good news just keeps coming.
Wyoming’s varsity Ultimate team extended their perfect start to the season with a 12-8 win over previously undefeated Kings on Sunday. The Jackrabbits were once again led by juniors Joe White, with five scoring throws and one goal catch, and Jaden Shapiro, with three scoring throws and one goal catch; the duo also played stout defense in the back of a tenacious zone that forced numerous Kings’ turnovers. Senior Tim Fitch and junior Max Brady each added three goal catches, while Abe Wickstrom had two and played a strong game as an offensive cutter and in the front of the zone defense. Special mention to sophomore Annmarie Spurling and junior Catherine Thoms, who each played every point on a sunny, warm day due to the team’s unusual low turnout (Model UN claimed several players!).
The Jackrabbits are back in action this Sunday at 2 vs. Beavercreek in a game to be played at Lebanon Junior High School. The JV will play Lebanon’s JV at 3:30 on the same field.
