As posted here, WHS Class of 2007 member Ian Kadish has signed with the Toronto Blue Jays.

If you want to know what he's going through, check out his blog here.

Ian's mom asked that I pass along Ian's thanks to Chris Campbell and brother Max, who helped him work out.  Chris was even crazy enough to catch Ian's 94 MPH fastballs.

Wyoming wins CHL All-Sports Trophy for 11th Straight Year

Wyoming has won the CHL All-Sports Trophy for the 11th straight year.

This is determined by assigning points by final standings in each sport - the first place school gets nine points, second is seven, third six, and on down to 1 for eighth (assuming all eight schools partipate in that sport).

Wyoming won both the fall and winter seasons and came in second (by 1/2 point) in the spring season.  For the year Wyoming had a total of 112.5 points vs. second-place Indian Hill's 99.5.  Wyoming was CHL champion in football, volleyball, girls' cross country and boys' and girls' swimming.

Alumni Softball game

The Alumni Softball game was held Sunday morning and early afternoon..  (Or possibly The Alumnae Softball game was held Sunday morning and early afternoon.)

It's not clear who won since the scoreboard seemed to have been manipulated with the students posting multiple runs between the bottom of the 5th and the top of the 6th.

But it was a beautiful day (finally) and everyone had a good time at the game before enjoying hamburgers and hot dogs at Chez-Horn/Muehlenkamp/Lohman.

West comes up just short in all-star game

Despite the seemingly insurmountable burden of facing Eric Price, Tommy Campbell and Kyle Seyfried, the East somehow beat  the West last night in the SWOFCA East-West All-Star game.

Enquirer story here.  In part:
Render, who would finish with seven catches for 130 yards, caught a 45-yard pass from Kyle Seyfried of Wyoming and then a two-point conversion pass from Seyfried to pull the West to within 28-14...

Seyfried finished with 103 yards and one touchdown on 8-of-14 passing, while Dartis connected on four of his seven passes for 105 yards
BTW - You can see Tommy Campbell in pictures 7 & 9 of the Jeff Swinger gallery that accompanies the article.  I'll have my pictures of the game up by this weekend.

NC State makes scholarship offer to Terry Davis

Trying to keep up with Terry Davis' scholarship offers feels like writing about the national debt - by the time you write something down it's been superseded.

I had an update that he had gotten an offer from Miami University but before I got a chance to post it the NC State one popped up.

Anyway, here's the NC State article with the complete list of FIFTEEN offers (my count could be off - as you can understand anything over ten becomes problematic.)
