vs Roger Bacon 4/16/15
Wyoming hosted Roger Bacon on Thursday, April 16th. Sophomore Katie Lewis took the mound and got off to a rocky start, giving up three hits to the first four batters and two runs. After the next two batters walked, Katie found her stride, striking out the next two batters to end the inning. These were the only runs Roger Bacon would score. As Wyoming took the batting box, 5/8 batters got hits with Olivia Munneke and Allison Golden hitting RBI doubles. Munneke, Golden, Skylar Wolski and Michaela Fetter all plated runners which brought the score in the first to 2-4.
The Cowboy defense shut down the Roger Bacon batters quickly after the first inning. The remaining 6 innings found only three batters coming to the plate each inning. Participating in two double plays were shortstop Olivia Munneke’s catch and throw to 2nd baseman Erin Campbell and the catch by right fielder Reily Boss to first baseman Reagan Raymer. Katie Lewis picks up the win with six hits, three walks and striking out three over the seven innings. The final score for the Cowboys was a 5-2 victory!
vs Monroe 4/23/15
Wyoming visited Monroe on Thursday for a non-league game. Coach Campbell reverted his infield back to Reagan Raymer to third and Allison Golden to first. The two seemed back at home going errorless and combined for 5 assists, 10 putouts and at least one of them was involved in every putout in the game. At the plate, the Cowboys struggled facing a very efficient pitcher who threw just 32 pitches in the first 4 innings. By the time the Cowboys began to figure out the pitcher to score 3 runs on 4 hits and a walk, the game was over. The Cowboys were shut down in 5 innings with a 16-3 loss.
