Senior Wall

Steve Lohman and Kathy Harper have engineered a major upgrade to the Senior Athletes wall at the high school.

The first improvement was moving it out of the hallway under the gym stands (where not that many people passed it) and into the hallway leading into the gym (it's between the band room and the main gym entrances).  Thanks to Jim Barre and the school for making that space available.

The second was that instead of just having their names up, the seniors now have pictures up (for example, below).  Thanks to Steve Lohman for doing the carpentry and Kathy Harper for coordinating it all and getting the pictures ordered and up.  Thanks also to Misty Maxwell for her help with the pictures.

Check it out next time you're at the gym.

If you have a fall senior athlete who's NOT up, please drop me a note at wyoroundup@gmail.com and we'll work to correct that.  I know we're missing Brian Spitzig, Joe Panos, Lucy Hackett, Andrew Goetzen and David Manley.  We're working on a date to get pic's of them and anyone else we may have missed.

Boys' basketball opens with win

The boys' basketball team traveled to Talawanda last night and came away with an 80-50 victory.

Co-captains Tony Davis and Eric Price both had double-doubles - Tony with 21 points and 24 rebounds and Eric with 12 and 17.  Chris Campbell chipped in with 14 points, five steals and four assists.  Jonathan Tighe had nine points.

Complete game stats here.

Wrestling update

The wrestling team finished the weekend by compiling a 3-2 dual record. On Friday we wrestled in our first in-school wrestling match against CHCA. Next year it moves to Wyoming.

At the Bacon Duals we finished 4th. You can find our wrestlers stats at the CHL website here.

The quickest pin on the team came Saturday when Adam Blum pinned his opponent in 19 seconds. Our last 3 matches against Batavia resulted in pins of 25 seconds (Ethan Padnos), 19 seconds (Adam) and 38 seconds (Joey Gallick).

Next up: at home Thursday against Norwood and the top DII team in the city - Ross.

Enquirer Boys' Basketball Preview

The Enquirer ran its boys' basketball preview.

CHL preview is here.  We're profiled first which I think means we're picked to win the league.

However, in the initial Coaches' Poll, here, we're picked fourth in the Division II-IV poll, one spot behind Madeira.  Madeira is listed third in the CHL preview behind Mariemont.  I guess we can say that Madeira, Mariemont and Wyoming are the preseason CHL favorites.
