The weather has certainly created challenges as the regular season for the Boys Varsity Tennis team started with rain-outs versus Alter (Dayton), Anderson, and Milford; and interrupted the match versus Kings (which will be finished at a later TBD date).
Finally, the weather cooperated and on a beautiful Saturday (4/11) the team travelled to Columbus to take on two top ranked DII teams: Columbus Academy and Bexley. Wyoming faced off versus Columbus Academy in the morning but came up a little short, losing the match 2-3. However, after re-fueling on pizza, the team bounced back and decisively beat Bexley 4-1.
Pictures (lots!) are from the first match.
Next week is definitely a busy one for the team: 5 matches in 5 straight days (that is, weather permitting, of course), including big matches versus DI powers St. X. and Anderson (re-scheduled). Look for another update later in the week.
Thanks to Bob Carter for the report and super-sweet pictures.
