Awesome in Anderson

The Wyoming HS Girl's Lacrosse team played Anderson HS Thursday night.  The JV rebounded from Tuesday's loss and responded strongly to Coach Stephanie Graham's game plan by defeating Anderson 10 to 3.

The Varsity squad struggled with their offensive rhythm in the first half against Anderson, but were able to compose themselves and go into the half with a 6 to 4 lead.   The second half saw the Cowboys explode and dominate the field shutting down Anderson's offense with strong defensive stands and outscoring their opponent 8 to 0 for a final score of 14 to 4.  Claire Mellott recorded 4 critical saves that frustrated the Anderson offense which had difficulty breaking the defense lead by Carly Schlager, Emily Wood, Grace Steiner, and Emma Komrska.  Marielle Smith lead goal scoring with 5 followed by Reilly Simmons (3), Maggie Hughes (2), Molly Izenson (1), Adi Smith (1), Lindsay Stewart (1), and Emily Wadds (1)

 Next up, the JV and Varsity squads are on the road to Columbus on Friday to play Bishop Hartley HS,  JV gametime at 6pm, Varsity at 7:30.  Bishop Hartley is located at 1285 Zettler Road, Columbus OH.
