Lumping Lebanon

Coach Crawford reports

The Wyoming HS Girl's Lacrosse traveled to Lebanon HS Thursday night (April 9th) in what turned out to be a stormy night.  First up, the JV looked impressive at their midfield play out hustling their opponent to lead 3 to 1 as the first half was interrupted and game later cancelled due to the weather.  Goals were scored by A. Boster, A Moher, and H. Connelly.

The Varsity played a scrappy Lebanon team and faced a 4 to 4 tie moving into the second half of play.  After further exchanges in goal scoring and with 4:15 left in the second half, breakout goals by Maggie Hughes and Marielle Smith broke a 7 to 7 tie as the Cowboys outlasted Lebanon to win 10 to 7.  Goals were lead by Reilly Simmons (3), followed by Adi Smith (2), Marielle Smith (2), Maggie Hughes (2), and Olivia Cunningham (1).  Assists were provided by Maggie Hughes (3), Marielle Smith (2), Adi Smith (1), and Emily Wadds (1).  Emily Wadds lead all players with 3 Draw Controls.  Another strong showing by Goalie Claire Mellott with contributions by Grace Schneider, Emma Komrska, Grace Steiner, Carly Schlager, Emily Wood, and Lindsay Stewart as a rotating defensive unit snaring 7 Ground Balls and 5 Draw Controls.

Next up, both  JV and Varsity will play a tough conference game against Summit HS at Home, on Saturday, April 11.  JV gametime is 11:00 AM; Varsity gametime is 12:30 PM.
Thanks to Coach Crawford for the report, and
