Wyoming CC Girls 3rd, Boys 4th at Fairmont Invitational

The Wyoming CC teams traveled to Kettering, Ohio for the Fairmont Invitational this past weekend. The Girls team placed 3rd out of 9 teams and the Boys Team finished 4th out of 9 teams.

The Girl's were once again led by sophomore Emily Stites, who came in 4th in the race in 20:55. Also scoring for the Cowboys was freshman Sammy Schwartz in 21:35, freshman Amelia Irvine in 21:36, sophomore Noel DeMott in 21:59, and sophomore Olivia Schneider in 22:39.

"I'm very proud of the girls team" raved head coach Dan Flaute. "They have improved a lot in a very short time and are beating teams now that were significantly better than them to start the season. Six of our top seven posted their season best time."

The Boys team was hurt by illness and injury yet managed to come in 4th in the meet. Leading the Cowboys was sophomore Seth Gold, who finished 5th in 18:19. Also scoring were senior Evan Cheshire in 18:48, sophomore Alex Mangas in 19:02, senior Rob Marty in 19:16, and sophomore Will Irwin in 19:17.

"We were far from full strength for this meet, but I think the guys who ran competed well," said Flaute."Seth ran another PR and was 75 seconds faster than he was at the same meet last season. Alex Mangas, who was a last minute substitute for a sick runner, ran a 30 second PR."

The Cowboys wrap up the regular season at the Father Rudy Invitational at Rapid Run Park this Saturday before heading to Sharon Woods on October 17th to defend their CHL titles at the league meet.
