The Wyoming Boys Varsity Golf Team brought home the 2009 District II Sectional Championship today at Sharon Woods with a final score of 326. That was good enough to beat out 2nd place Taylor High School by a full 10 shots. Special recognition goes out to Zach Galluzzo, who posted a season low 79 and Joseph Dulemba, who also shot a 79. Junior Brian Spitzig came in with an 81 and sophomore Adam Crider rounded out the scores with an 87. The team jumped out to a big lead on the front side, and hung on for the win. The boys should be proud of their efforts today, overcoming the cold weather at the start of the round, and the increased pressure that comes along with playing in the post season.
Next stop is the District Championship next Thursday @ Weatherwax in Middletown. Coach Crider says they’ll be working hard starting tomorrow toward the goal of playing well at Districts, but this evening they’ll be savoring a great effort by all.
