2009 CINCINNATI DISTRICT CHAMPIONS - WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER
Has a nice ring to it doesn't it?
On another great fall night for soccer, our girls ventured up to Mason HS to take on the Jamestown Greeneville team for the district finals.
The first half of the match was a very even affair. Both teams kept the ball between the 18s for much of the half. Greeneville had one shot on goal and Wyoming had three shots.
0-0 halftime
The second half started out the same, then Wyoming started putting more pressure on the offensive end of the field. After several offside calls,
1-0 final Wyoming
The defense (goalie, fullbacks, sweepers, etc...) needs to be acknowledged for the great way they have played all year. These are the girls that make it possible for the team to have as many shutouts as they do this year. These are the unsung players that get the job done game in and game out
The great fan support was there also. It was great to see all of the students come out and cheer for their school and show what team spirit is all about. Let's keep it up.
Wyoming plays again on Weds. November 4th at 7:00pm at Centerville HS.
Their opponent will be Hamilton Badin.
Let's have a great turnout for this Regional semifinal match-up
Thanks for Arch Cunningham for the picture.
