Columbus - Ashley Berg and Tess Thoresen played their state tennis match on Friday October 23rd in Columbus. They lost in the first round to the first seeded team out of the Akron district. They had a slow start and lost 6-1, 6-1. Nevertheless, it was a great experience especially for being the youngest doubles team among the sixteen division II teams. The torrential rains forced the tourney to move indoors and the tennis club was full to the brink with outstanding tennis players, tennis coaches, college recruiters, fellow teammates, family and friends. There was an amazing level of talent and excitement that inspired the girls. It was a great way to finish a great season and we are so proud of Ashley and Tess’s accomplishment, effort and dedication. Thank you Coach Rodney Miller and Assistant Coach Chris Hemingway. It's been an excellent adventure! We wish all of the girls tennis team a good rest of the school year!
(Thanks to our tennis stringer for the report.)
