True Confession: The Roundup is NOT omniscient
We had a comment today from a blog reader, "tom horn", which reads, "Sure would have liked to see the JV Volleyball scores in today's blog......". Leaving aside the fact that the comment was made under the post "Girls Soccer Ranked 5th in State" rather than under the post "Volleyball loses heartbreaker to Taylor," the comment elicits the following confession: despite what the Roundup may have implied to certain members of the opposite sex during our dating days, the Roundup is, sadly, not omniscient. Although we try to attend as many Cowboy sporting events as possible, we typically can't even remember the scores of those games (or, on occasion, where we parked our car). Let alone do we know the scores of events we've been unable to attend. Therefore we must typically depend on the Enquirer for scores. We recognize that such reliance on a dying medium is problematic. Therefore this is a call to action for all you readers (reader?) out there: coordinate with your coach (so 10 people aren't sending in the score) to provide scores (and highlights if you want) to wyoroundup@gmail.com. We're happy to publish them. This applies to all middle school teams as well as high school. Another tip: the more the e-mail reads like a blog post, and hence the less editing required, the faster the item will be online. Thanks.

Having dated the RoundUp, I am sad to hear that it is not, as previously, repeatedly, told to me, omniscient. I guess I will have to learn to live with disappointment.
ReplyDeleteI doubt "the roundup" ever had a date with the opposite sex in highschool.
ReplyDeleteWell, Anonymous, a quick rereading will reveal that the Roundup did not claim to have actually gone on any dates, rather we merely referred to our "dating days":
ReplyDelete"...despite what the Roundup may have implied to certain members of the opposite sex during our dating days"
While the days certainly existed, the dating itself may have been merely aspirational.
