Super Softball Senior Night

From the Goldens;
Madeline (MJ) Juergens No-Hit Madeira as the Wyoming Cowboys ended CHL play on Senior Night (May 7th) with a 3-1 victory.  Madeira scored their only run in the first when senior and opposing pitcher, Claire Gordon, was awarded home on a called illegal pitch.  Wyoming answered in the bottom of the first when Reily Boss was hit by a pitch, stole second, advanced on an overthrow and scored on a single by Olivia Munneke.  In the third, Olivia singled in Sara Washienko and Regan Raymer for the other two runs.  Madeira threatened on the top of the fifth by loading the bases with one out. Caught fly balls to Ally Golden and Michaela Fetter ended the threat.  Michaela had three put-outs and one assist to Ellen in the game.   Ellen Koesterman, in her final CHL game, had 5 put-outs at first and finished a double play started with Michaela's outfield catch.  Hits were scarce on the Wyoming side too as Clare Gorden allowed only 4 singles: two by Olivia, and one a piece for Reagan and Emily Dudek.  Both pitchers faced only six more batters than the minimum.  MJ struck out seven and retired 13 straight batters in one stretch.  The Cowboys end the official season with a 7-7 CHL record and ties Madeira for fourth place.  Great job girls!
The girls play Thursday against Cincinnati Christian at home and then begin post-season play on Tuesday, May 13 at Batavia.  Game time is 5 pm.
