Coach Crawford reported from the Tuesday, April 29th Girls Lacrosse action.
The girls Lax team traveled to Bishop Fenwick and won both JV and Varsity games in the rain.
After leading at the conclusion of the first half 4-2 and weathering a lightning delay, the varsity saw the Fenwick Falcons score 3 goals in the first three minutes of the second half and were suddenly down 4-5. With a timeout and execution of the 'Anderson 500' play at the next draw (and subsequent draws), the Cowboys scored 4 unanswered goals over the next 10 minutes of play, and with some timely saves by Goalie Emily Wadds, came away with the win final score 10-7. Goals were scored by Maggie Hughes (2), Haley Stewart (2), Adi Smith (2), Grace Schneider (1), Marielle Smith (1), Reilly Simmons (1), and Marta Stewart (1).
In the second game, the JV won 5-1 over the Falcons JV. Goalie Claire Mellott recorded 8 saves. Goals were scored by Madelyn Taylor (3), Annie Boster (1), and Libby Fischer (1).
Next up, the team travels Thursday (May 1st - Hey - That's tonight!) night to Summit County Day
