Series Sweep

The Golden's reported from the Girls Softball series against Reading.

It was a high scoring game Friday when Wyoming topped Reading 13-12 in 7 full innings.  MJ Juergens started the game, striking out one in the 1st inning and another in the 2nd but left the game in the fourth with Cowboys tied at 5, bases loaded and two outs.  Katie Lewis came in to finish the inning, and the game.  Wyoming scored 2 runs in the bottom 4th allowing Wyoming to take the lead, 6-7.  Wyoming had a big inning in the 5th, scoring 5 more runs, which Reading answered with 4 of their own in the 6th.  In the bottom of the sixth, Sara Washienko doubled to the fence in right center and scored what proved to be the game winner on Reagan's single.  Entering the top of the 7th, Wyoming was in the lead 10-13.  Reading tried to rally in the top of the 7th, but couldn't make up the deficit and Wyoming finished the game, 12-13 on a comebacker to Katie for a force at home.  It was a big hitting day for Reagan Raymer, who went 5 for 5 and scored 3 of the 13 runs.
Wyoming completed the sweep of Reading, Monday with a 6 inning victory, 11-1.  Katie Lewis gave up just 6 hits, but no walks.  She struck out one and the Wyoming defense was solid, with several good plays.  The Munneke-Campbell - Koesterman trio just missed their fourth ground ball double play in as many games.  Olivia did make a diving catch, and Ally Golden and Reagan  Raymer teamed up to catch a runner trying to advance to third from second on a short fly to center.
In the first, Wyoming left two runners after Reily Boss had the first of her two hits and Erin Campbell walked.  Reading scored their only run on back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the first to lead 1-0.  Ally Golden scored the tying run on a single, stole second and scored on Michaela Fetter's single.  The Reading pitcher ran into control problems in the third, walking a total of 7 batters.  Wyoming had a 6-1 lead after three innings.  Wyoming scored one in the fourth, two more in the fifth and two in the sixth to account for the 11 runs.  Reily Boss, Allison Golden and Michaela Fetter had two hits a piece, and Erin Campbell added a double.  Emily Dudek ended the game with a nice catch in foul territory.
Thanks to Bob and Lisa Golden for the great report, and
Thanks to Skip Koesterman for the sweet pictures.
