Look What's Coming Our Way

From Coach Getgey

GIRLS MS Lax end the season in style!!

The girls middle school team played their final A game this season vs their nemesis Springboro who had beaten them early in the season then again last week in the Comet Cup.   Coach Wadds and Getgey decided to change the lineup and give Olivia Grady the nod as Goalie so that they could add firepower up front with Libby Wadds.   The return of Ellie Marty just added to the defense which was anchored by Katie Wadds, Isabella Getgey and Kelsey Lackey.    With the lineups set, the girls came out swinging by controlling the ball and taking the first 3 shots of the game.   Captain Lindsey Stewart got the offense calmed down after a few missed shots and finally got their first goal thanks to Ashley Moher.   At halftime, the girls found themselves down 4-3.   It was then that the Wyoming spirit showed thru as the girls were relentless in the 2nd half as Libby Wadds, Anna Sponagle, Lindsey Stewart, Caroline Meis, Hope Connelly, Greta Warmbier, Kelly Lyons and Sam Rathbone continued to provide the offensive punch.  The Henn sisters Christine and Jessica outran all defenders and provided great passes all day long.   Riley Bahr was everywhere on the field and Springboro realized that it was going to be a long half.   Olivia Grady was tremendous in the goal making stop after stop and the defense played their best game of the season.   In the end – the 2nd half spirit of the girls middle school lax crew just overpowered Springboro for a 10-8 win.   Thanks to Lindsey Steward, Katie Wadds and Ellie Abrams for being great captains this year.    All the girls were tremendous and will make Coach Crawford proud next year in High School.

In the second game Olivia Grady continued her steller goalie play as Ellie Abrams, Molly Mariani, Hope Connelly, Emma Fitzpatrick started the offensive barrage.  Riley Bahr, Emma Savage Greta Wambier Caroline Meis, Sam Rathbone and Cate Hummel provided great Middy play ensuring the ball stayed on the offensive side.   The defense was led by Lauren Montgomery , Lydia Groff, Jane Burke and the Henn sisters.   It was a tough battle all day with Springboro receiving 3 yellow cards for dangerous play.   The Wyoming girls never relented and held the lead throughout the game.   One costly turnover with only a minute left in the game came back to haunt as Springboro was able to come down and tie the game with less than 15 seconds remaining.   The Wyoming effort was tremendous and all the girls should be proud of a great season.

Thanks to Coach Getgey for the report, and
