Lacrosse drops a close one

From our lacrosse stringer:

It was a clear cool evening at Bob Lewis Stadium, home of the Wyoming Cowboys who hosted the Milford Eagles. This was a great game played by two well coached and disciplined teams. At the end of the first period the Cowboys led the Eagles 3 to 2. Eagles rallied to go up by one at the end of the first half (5 to 4). Both teams played tough defense in the third period only giving up one goal for each side bringing the score to Cowboys 5, Eagles 6. The fourth period was the hardest fought and with two minutes left in the game Wyoming led 9 to 7. During the next two minutes the Eagles converted on two fast breaks tying the game and sending the game into overtime. The face off at the beginning of 4 minutes of overtime took near 30 seconds to gain possession and quickly led to an Eagles goal to win the game. For Cowboy fans, this was yet another example of the great effort the Wyoming Boys Lacrosse Team brings to every game. These Cowboy lacrosse players conducted themselves in a manner which reflected a positive image of their team, the Wyoming High School, and their families. Honor the Game.

Jim Barre the Wyoming Athletic Director was on scene supporting the Cowboys. The Wyoming Coaching staff encourages the development of the game of lacrosse in the Wyoming area. This year we have had several Wyoming Football players join the team adding great value to the level of play. Through out the week you can catch lacrosse games not only at the high school level but also at the 7th and 8th grade fields located at the Wyoming recreation center. Sticks Up!!!
The JV game also went to overtime, but that also ended in a Wyoming loss, 5-4.
