Stites Still Supreme

From Coach Greg Knickel
Update on 2012 State 3200 Champion, Emily Stites (WHS '12). Emily set the school 1600 record last spring with a time of 5:02.16. I thought she could go sub 5:00 last spring. The mile is about 9 meters longer than the 1600 so that's a sub 4:50 1600 time that she ran yesterday at the George Mason Patriot Games.

From the William and Mary Tribe Website
In the mile, freshman Emily Stites (Wyoming, Ohio) was the top collegiate finisher in third place overall, running a lifetime-best and freshman record 4:51.03. In addition to being an ECAC qualification, Stites' performance is the 11th-fastest ever run indoors for W&M, and ranks her as the fourth-fastest miler in school history.
