Monday, in the WMS gymnasium, Ashley Moher made her return from being out since November. She and Kaelyn Gillian each scored 4 points to help seal the win for the 7th grade team. Syndie Shepherd played great on both ends of the floor, scoring 3 and starting some great fast breaks. Again at this game, Lindsay Stewart made some big plays for her team today, passing and scoring, to lead the Lady Cowboys to victory.
Tatyana Palmer, Kelsey Lackey, Emma Jacquemin and Trisha Harmon played amazing defense against Reading. Coach Kunkel said, “The key to this win was our superior zone defense. The girls did a great job of matching up on Reading’s guards.” Wyoming’s defense was so good that Reading only scored 4 points in the first half.
So overall this game was a big 27 – 16 win for Wyoming. Come out to root them on and offer some good luck when they face Madeira at home on Monday, January 14.
Thanks to Emma Melvin and Coach Kunkel for the report.
I would encourage you to take Emma's suggestion and come out to cheer on the girls on Monday, January 14th at home against Maderia.
