The Wyoming Cross Country Teams traveled to the Troy Invitational to compete on September 26. The Girls team captured 4th out of 10 teams, and the Boys team finished 5th out of 11 teams.
The Girls team was led by sophomore Emily Stites, who finished 12th in 21:35. Also scoring for the Cowboys were freshman Sammy Schwartz in 21:44, freshman Amelia Irvine in 21:56, sophomore Noel DeMott in 22:29, and sophomore Olivia Schneider 23:06.
"I was happy with the way the girls performed," said Head Coach Dan Flaute. "Our young runners continue to improve week to week."
The Boys team was led by senior Patrick Ammerman, who finished 15th in the 5k race in 18:20. Also scoring for the Cowboys were sophomore Seth Gold in 18:23, junior Mike Sagan in 18:39, senior Evan Cheshire in 18:52, and senior John Colton in 18:53.
"The Boys team showed improvement this week," explained Flaute. "Patrick ran his first race in a month, and looked in control the entire way. Seth Gold worked extremely hard in the offseason, and is seeing the results of his effort, running another PR and improving over a minute from the time he ran at this meet last season."
The teams next compete Saturday at the Fairmont Invitational in Kettering.
