Boys soccer can't quite escape Finneytown's grasp

Try as they might, the boys soccer team couldn't quite slip away from Finneytown Tuesday night and had to settle for a 2-2 tie.

The Wyoming goals were scored by freshman Daniel Richtand and sophomore Nick Kamphaus.  The defense was led by senior captain Reed Jaeger.

Kamphaus' goal was a thing of improbable beauty.  He and a Finneytown defender came together at about the 38 yard line (based on picture 28 which is the immediate aftermath of the play).  It was a bang-bang play where each player kicked the ball and at first it wasn't even clear who kicked it second.  Then the ball began a long arc toward the Finneytown goal.  It had so much hangtime that it slowly dawned on the folks watching that it had a chance to go in....and then it did.  I think it may have fooled the Finneytown keeper as much as those watching. After the game Nick joked that he planned the whole thing out.
