Norwood to retire Marc Edwards' jersey at tonight's game

Norwood is retiring Marc Edwards' jersey tonight.  After graduating with Norwood's Class of 1993, Edwards played at Notre Dame and then nine years in the NFL, including stops with the 49ers, Patriots, Browns and Jaguars.  Edwards won a Super Bowl Ring with the Patriots (in case you couldn't figure that out from the picture at left).

So besides the fact that they're playing Wyoming tonight, what's the connection to Wyoming?  One Jim Barre.  Now our Athletic Director, Jim was the Norwood head football coach during Marc's playing days there.  Jim will take part in the ceremony at halftime tonight.

If you go, be aware that Norwood's Shea Stadium is not located at the high school, which is on Sherman Avenue.  Rather, it is at 2603 Harris Avenue (45212).  See you there to cheer on the Cowboys to a 3-0 start!
