Jackrabbits Unstoppable in Ultimate

From Coach George White

The Wyoming High School varsity Ultimate team, known as the Jackrabbits, shook off prom cobwebs Sunday to beat a previously undefeated Turpin team, to run their record to 6-0, winning 11-10 on a sparkling "Universe Point" grab in the endzone by senior Khafra Flynn on a long throw from Senior Eric Reichwein. It was Khafra's fifth score of the day, and Eric's seventh scoring throw. The Cowboys turned in a solid team effort, with strong defensive play from seniors David Weinrich and Katie Scholles, among others.
This year, the co-ed high school Ultimate program, which competes in the 28-team Cincinnati high school Ultimate league, has more than 50 players, and has a varisty and reserve team. The reserve team dropped a 12-5 decision to Moeller/Mt. Notre Dame today (April 21st) to drop to 2-4.
Wyoming will complete the regular season next Sunday (April 28th), with the varsity playing Clark Montessori at 1 and the reserve playing St. X/Ursuline Academy at 2:45. Both games are at the Rec Center, and the public is invited. The season-ending tournament is Saturday, May 4 in Lebanon
