Cowboys Split With Centerville

The MS boys lacrosse team played two games with Centerville at home on Thursday April 25, winning the first one 6-4 and losing the second one 4-7. Grant Mellott was in goal for both games with a save percentage of sixty percent. The first game was tied 4-4 early in the fourth quarter, when the Cowboys controlled possession and ran off two unanswered goals to win the game. Silas Ingram and Alex Thompson led all scorers with two goals each, with Cole Engel and Zach Osha each adding one. Zach Osha, Jack Vollette, Jake Edmonds, and Nick Denson contributed assists. Connor Yauss was again the ground ball leader with ten. In the second game, Centerville jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, which the Cowboys were not able to catch before time expired. Brayden Matlin led the scoring with 2 goals, with Jackson Klug and Cole Engel each adding one. Jake Tucker, Jacob Brewer, and Cole Engel contributed assists. Brayden Matlin also led the team with 7 ground balls. The Cowboys travel to Milford for their next games on Tuesday April 30.
