Coach Kristen Gilwee got her team amped up for this one as the Girls HS lacrosse team scored early and never looked back overwhelming Seven Hills, 10 to 4. Lead by Seniors Carly Levick (4 goals, 2 assists) and MJ Fischer (2 goals), the Cowboys dominated play and ball possession throughout the game. Rounding out the scoring were Adi Smith (2 goals, 1 assist) and Maggie Hughes (2 goals) with assists by Claire Crawford (2 assists) and Olivia Cunningham (1 assist). The Cowboys impressively lead Seven Hills with a total of 10 team draw controls, with Team Stewart, Center Marta Stewart drawing to her sister, Defensive Wing Haley Stewart, for 5 of the 10 draw controls.
Next up, Home against Milford Tuesday night at 6pm
Looking at pictures from the game, Coach Crawford's verb "overwhelming" doesn't seem like hype.
Awesome job, Ladies.
With no JV team this season, the Cowboys have a very deep bench. These players are an invaluable asset to the team even if they don't make it onto the field often during games. It's a good thing the Round-Up has a deep bench too. Photographers Peter Levick and Arch Cunningham were able to capture some great action shots of athletes we don't usually see a lot of in the games.
