We posted previously (HERE) about the Girls Varsity Soccer game against Indian Hill on Wednesday, September 2nd. We now know the rest of the story thanks to a report from Jeff Evans.
After a weather delay start to the game, with lightning seen in the distance, Cincinnati Hills League rivals battled to the end. In the first half the Braves controlled most of the play and kept Junior Goal Keeper, Lauren Metz, busy with a number of great saves. The very versatile Junior Forward / Mid Fielder, Casey Jervier, played numerous minutes at Defender and helped slow down the Braves attack. Senior Defender Meredith Glover shifted to the Mid Field to help bolster the Cowboys in the middle against a very talented Indian Hill Mid Field. However, one well placed shot from the Braves found the upper 90 corner of the goal giving Indian Hill a 1-0 lead. With just a couple of minutes left on the first half clock, lightning was again spotted in the distance and the game delayed further. After the 1/2 hour delay, the Cowboys came back out strong and finished the end of the first half with passion and began to take back the momentum of the match.
The second half saw some strategic player adjustments from both teams, but neither team where able to kick the ball off the pitch between the posts in second half. The Cowboys fell to the 6th ranked team in OHSAA Divison II in a closely contested match that could have went either way.
Thanks to Jeff Evans for the report.
