Miami University junior infielder Jon Edgington has been tabbed the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week for the week of May 3-9, the league office has announced. He is the first male RedHawk to win the award this school year and just the third RedHawk athlete overall in 2009-10 to garner the honor.
Edgington (Cincinnati, Ohio), a microbiology major with a 3.68 grade-point average, earned a 3.97 GPA during the spring 2010 semester.Full article here.
In Thursday night's game at Miami against Ohio University, Jon was 4-for-4, which tied a career high for hits, with a double, three runs scored and an RBI.
