Twice as Nice Over Milford

The HS Girls Lax team came away Tuesday night with two victories over Milford.  First, the JV outscored Milford by the score of 6-2.  A strong defense lead by Goalie Claire Mellott with defensive field performances by Lauren Davis, Grace Steiner, Ellen Boster, and Isabella Renggli slowed Milford's offense.  Cowboy goals were scored by Erin Broderick (2), Madelyn Taylor (2), Elizabeth Hughes (1), and Avery Barzizza (1).

The Varsity squad played a consistent, steady game, and won 9-5.   Goalie Emily Wadds recorded 9 saves as her defensive support of Carly Schlager, Grace Crawford, Emily Wood, and Grace Schneider came away with a total of 5 ground balls in defense of the the goal.  Goals were scored by Annabelle Steiner (2), Marielle Smith (2), Maggie Hughes (2), Adi Smith (1), Reilly Simmons (1), and Marta Stewart (1).  The Cowboys dominated draw controls with a total team count of 12 to Milford's 4.

Next up, cross-town to Anderson HS on Thursday, April 17; JV game begins at 6:00 and Varsity at 7:30.
