Coach Rod Crider got us up-to-date with the Boys Lacrosse team.
Here is a brief update on the WHS Boys Lacrosse team. The team kicked off its season with a 6 – 5 win over Summit Country Day back on Wednesday 3/26. Junior Cameron Cramer and sophomore Jack Crider led the team in scoring with 2 goals each, while senior Griffin O’Gara and junior John Hughes each scored 1 goal for the Cowboys. Senior James McAllister as well as Cramer and Hughes also notched assists during the game. Goalkeeper Frank Barzizza turned in a great performance with 12 saves.
The Cowboys evened out their record on Wednesday evening 4/9 with a close loss to Sycamore, 11 – 9. The scoring parade was led by Griffin O’Gara, John Hughes and junior Peter McGrath, who scored two goals each. James McAllister, junior Oliver Reinecke and sophomore Mason Rogers each scored once for the Cowboys. O’Gara, McAllister, Hughes and Crider each had an assist in the game. Sophomore Nicholas Robles dominated face-offs with 16 wins against only 7 losses. Goalkeeper Barzizza also turned in another strong game with 8 saves.
The team returns to action with a home game versus Bellbrook on Friday night, 4/11.
