Coach Crawford reported from the Girls Lacrosse games against Anderson.
The Wyoming Girls Lax team traveled to Anderson where the JV lost 2-6. Goalie Claire Mellott recorded 5 saves; goals were scored by Isabella Renggli and Elizabeth Hughes.
The Varsity played a hard fought contest against Anderson as the game concluded in a tie at 8-8 after overtime. Down 1-3 with three minutes remaining in the first half, goals by Adi Smith and Reilly Simmons lifted the Cowboys to a 3-3 tie to conclude the first half. The Cowboys exchanged goals with Anderson lead by Maggie Hughes with 4 second half goals as the lead changed several times. The close of the second half saw crucial saves by both team's goalies in the last minute of regulation play. In overtime, offensive scoring opportunities and strong team defense by both teams continued. Goalie Emily Wadds recorded crucial saves both at the conclusion of the second half and in overtime. Additional scoring came from Marielle Smith and Marta Stewart.
Next up, the Cowboys travel to Cincinnati Country Day on Monday for a Varsity game starting at 5:30.
