Jackrabbits Hop To It

Coach White keeps the Ultimate reports coming.
The Wyoming Jackrabbits Ultimate varsity team upped its record to 3-2 with a 9-8 win over Taylor.  On a blustery day, the Jackrabbits dug a 2-6 hole in the first half, but came roaring back behind stout defense.  The game came down the final point, tied 8-8 at the time cap; Senior Sam White hit junior Tim Fitch in the end zone on “Universe point”, with Tim making a tough, contested catch for the win.  The Jackrabbits were paced by sophomore Joe White’s three scoring throws, one goal catch, and strong defense, as well as seniors Sam White (three scoring throws) and Alex Kellner (three goal catches), and junior Tim Fitch (one scoring throw and two goal catches). Taylor is fielding an Ultimate team for the first time this year, and is coached by Wyoming grad Eric Reichwein (’13), who was a standout for the Jackrabbits’ undefeated, league championship team last year.
The Reserve team dropped a 4-8 decision to another first-year team, Madeira.  Juniors Michael Spurling (three scoring throws) and Blake Wickstrom (one scoring throw and two goal catches) led the Jackrabbits.

After a week off for Easter, the Jackrabbts are back in action April 27 at Oak Park - Varsity at 2:45 vs. Oak Hills; JV at 4:30 vs. Roger Bacon.
